Business Unit Overview:

 

Nomura Research is a World-class provider of intellectual capital. Research covers Company Analysis, Quantitative Research, Corporate Access & Equity Strategy. Nomura delivers Independent research through globally aligned sectors and with a narrow but deep, high-quality strategy leveraging dedicated distribution.

Powai (Mumbai) Research division is an integral part of the Global Research Division. It consists of Associates covering various markets, who undertake equity research.  The Equity Research team is involved in fundamental research of companies as well as equity strategy research spanning geographies across Asia. The team also comprises, Product Management Group, Supervisory Analysts and the Editorial & Production team.

In order to further support the business and Nomura’s market profile across a broad range of clients, the Asia ex Japan Equity research team is looking to hire an associate to provide Equity research coverage. The team is looking for an associate who could support the analyst in his work on a day to day basis. The team aims to be a top-3 provider of research to the firm’s focus accounts which are equally spread between institutional investors and hedge funds in all the main financial centres of the world.

Degree in Finance /CA/MBA or Engineering from a premier institute. CFA will be an added advantage

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Part of highly regarded ASEAN equities research team with potential for professional development in financial markets
  • Support senior analyst in Malaysia-based coverage
  • Build and maintain financial models and valuations
  • Monitor market developments for covered companies
  • Prepare research reports and marketing materials
  • Maintain industry/company databases
  • Liaise with company IR teams and internal stakeholders Occasional travel to Malaysia office possible.

 

Key Skills:

 

  • Strong financial accounting and valuation skills
  • Good academic record
  • Superior analytical and data interpretation abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of equity markets
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Bloomberg experience preferred
  • Strong research writing capabilities
