The Risk Management Division encompasses the firm's comprehensive risk framework responsible for determining and managing the overall risk appetite for the firm. The division is responsible for effectively managing the firm's risk-return profile which ensures the efficient deployment of the firm's capital. It is one of the firm's core competencies and is independent of the trading areas and operational areas.

 

Business Unit Overview:

 

The Risk Model and Regulatory Oversight (RMRO) team is part of the Global Risk Methodology Group (RMG) and responsible for supervising RMG’s compliance with all relevant Risk Model policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

The RMRO team liaises globally with other functions within Nomura with departments across Risk Management, IT, GM, Finance, amongst other areas to provide a comprehensive picture of the risks Nomura faces.

Role & Responsibilities:

 

This role is for an Associate level candidate to support the RMG CAO/Head of RMRO in carrying out responsibilities to support RMG’s Risk Model Governance and Compliance. The candidate will be tasked with taking the lead on several areas within the RMRO space.

 

Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Regular reporting on key operational risk events, event action status, emerging risks, and other developments
  • Supporting Head of RMRO and RMG team Heads to review RCSA
  • Supporting the regular process of annual RCSA attestation
  • Assistance in preparing event risk/near-miss event risk and risk acceptance forms
  • Supporting Model Performance Monitoring Governance
  • Producing minutes of forums/meetings, which are concise, accurate, transparent and impartial record of meetings
  • Tracking Regulatory engagement
  • Operating strategic change management project initiatives within RMG
