Global Operational Risk Management comprises 5 Regional teams, giving coverage of Nomura’s key locations and businesses, and Central ORM comprising the Global Head of ORM and the Head of Central ORM and their team Daily Stakeholder queries

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Central ORM and Head of Framework in the development, deployment and operation of the ORM Policy and Procedures and assuring Central ORM’s role in the ORM framework is executed as per Policy and Procedures
  • Help design and prepare BRD’s where required to capture the OPERA enhancement requirement from various involving global, regional, IT, and ORM teams
  • Proactive partnership with Global ORM teams and IT to gather requirement for changes and amendment in OPERA and have an approach to manage change organically
  • Review Data Dictionary and other static tables in OPERA on a regular basis
  • Understand the system designs and functionalities and act as a Global SME for the change management in OPERA
  • Operational risk reporting and analysis, with a focus on streamlining and automating deliverables, including full adoption of Business Objects and data mining and analysis
  • Publish monthly OPERA update magazine to global stakeholders
  • Managing regulatory requests, e.g. for Japan FSA or UK PRA, including regulatory submissions
  • Manage other adhoc tasks like Global Operational Risk Hierarchy maintenance, EUC inventory management etc. which will be essential for smooth functioning of Central ORM function.
  • Assist in the creation of training content on OPERA usage to relevant participants and audience.

 

MIND SET:

 

 

Mandatory

Domain

  • Have 10 -15 years’ experience in a change management  function, managing operational risk specific systems.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisation skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, where necessary to short deadlines
  • Possess reporting and analysis skills and have deep understanding of Excel (knowledge of Business Objects reporting tool will be a plus)
  • Possess financial services knowledge and experience, ideally in capital markets / investment banking context
  • Be  a self-starter and display a proactive approach
  • Ideally, have some knowledge of ORM regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Relevant operational risk professional qualifications are an advantage but not essential
