Divisional Overview:
The Risk Management Division encompasses the firm's comprehensive risk framework responsible for determining and managing the overall risk appetite for the firm. The division is responsible for effectively managing the firm's risk-return profile, which ensures the efficient deployment of the firm's capital. It is one of the firm's core competencies and is independent of the trading areas and operational areas
Business Unit Overview:
Operational Risk Management (ORM) is a 2nd line of defense function providing integrated operational risk guidance oversight and advisory services enabling Powai to establish, maintain and improve a forward looking risk culture and best practices. The team has close engagements with Powai Divisions in promoting & sustaining global risk and control best practices, adherence to global operational risk policies thereby establishing a mind-set shift amongst all divisions in managing operational risk in the most forward looking manner. Operational Risk management is embedded in Powai across all divisions with adequate risk monitoring and event escalation mechanisms. In line with overarching vision of Risk Management and Powai leadership team, the function endeavors to embed a culture, where operational risk is a central theme for all divisions in building a control conscious organization.
Operational risk management (ORM) has three teams operating in Powai i.e. Core ORM (Business advisory team), Global Scenario & Analytics and Governance / QA Framework. All teams within Powai ORM reports to Powai Head of Operational risk management.
This role is within the Global Scenario & Analytics team based in Mumbai. The position will be primarily responsible for improving and maintaining operational risk data analysis, managing global and regional reporting requirements (both internal and regulatory), and enhancing risk governance for Global ORM based on various data sources.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Operational risk reporting and analysis, with a focus on streamlining and automating reporting, including adoption of Power BI, Business Objects, data mining and analysis. Assure compliance to Global Risk Reporting Procedure.
- Review and support production of Global Risk Management committee reporting leveraging new age tools like Power BI for data quality checks.
- Perform analysis involving large volumes of data from varied sources to identify outliers, risk exceptions and non-adherence to the global operational risk management procedures.
- Regular oversights and maintenance of operational risk data system (Opera) and reporting frameworks ensuring integrity and precision of data reporting.
- Synthesize, standardise and simplify the existing global ORM reporting architecture with automation opportunities. Drive monthly GRMC reports, Half Yearly analysis of risk events, RSCA, KRI analysis via Power BI & improve reporting standards.
- Act as a SME/lead for all operational risk data requirements for various global change projects & represent Global ORM in various forums and committees in relation to data / reporting requirements.
- Support Global ORM COO in managing regulatory change projects (SMA) & analysis on various risk metrics/indicators (KRIs, Risk Appetite, ORLM, Scenario).
- Managing regulatory requests, e.g. for Japan FSA or UK PRA, including regulatory submissions.
- Breaking Silo – Partner/collaborate with other Risk Management functions in provided reporting standards best practices/ideas & integration and standardization of reports.
- Assessing compliance of Regional ORM teams to policy and procedures, including oversight of Monthly Status Report of global progress of ORM Framework processes (RCSAs, Events and KRIs).
- Support the implementation of Non-Financial Risk framework, including risk strategy, risk appetite, risk taxonomy, control library builds out & policy frameworks in OPERA application.
- Manage day-to-day reporting requirements from Global Central ORM standpoint in providing risk data via Power BI, Business Objects.
