Divisional Overview:

The Risk Management Division encompasses the firm's comprehensive risk framework responsible for determining and managing the overall risk appetite for the firm. The division is responsible for effectively managing the firm's risk-return profile, which ensures the efficient deployment of the firm's capital. It is one of the firm's core competencies and is independent of the trading areas and operational areas Business Overview: Risk Finance Reconciliation (RFR), is responsible for validating and improving the completeness of population used in exposure calculations and coordinating with cross-corporate business units for requisite issue resolutions. RFR also drives initiatives to ensure they are flexible and scalable to meet new regulatory requirements.

Business Unit Overview:

 

The RFR Team is part of the overarching Credit Risk Infrastructure (CRI) Team. CRI has a responsibility to monitor and report on counterparty exposures impacting Capital and Limits, governance around credit limit requests and specific pre-trade requests; and risk reporting for various Senior Risk Management, KSMMs, Business and Regulatory reporting.

  • Responsibilities includes population reconciliation between Risk systems and Finance system i.e. Data ledger. Responsibility involves detection and resolution of risk data exceptions to improve the quality of counterparty exposures and capital Implementing data quality processes/procedures to ensure accuracy of credit data
  • Partner with other business functions including IT to streamline, automate and develop new tools for Credit Risk Project related activities geared towards internal Credit Risk requirements as well as Regulatory requirements
  • Capital assurance through data completeness on regulatory capital (EEPE & sEEPE) and economic capital (Counterparty NCAT)
  • Understand trade bookings and types to evaluate how trades will feed and impact into Credit Risk systems across metric
  • Investigate, analyze and resolve population integrity issues and should be able to develop an understanding for data architecture and data flow
  • Ensure timely escalation on discrepancies to senior management
  • Work on regulatory requirements for JFSA / PRA / FINRA / SEC and to provide senior management with a view on the population completeness on timely basis
  • Log JIRA’s for any outstanding issues which requires resolution from upstream systems and work with risk change and BA to get the required issues prioritized
