The Risk Management Division encompasses the firm's comprehensive risk framework responsible for determining and managing the overall risk appetite for the firm. The division is responsible for effectively managing the firm's risk-return profile which ensures the efficient deployment of the firm's capital. It is one of the firm's core competencies and is independent of the trading areas and operational areas. The Risk Management Division in India comprises:

Business Overview:

International Wealth Management (“IWM”) is the business entity of Nomura Group that is focused on private banking business.  IWM Risk Management seeks to effectively engage with all key stakeholders in the risk management process which includes Credit Risk, Portfolio Risk, Operational Risk, Risk Methodology and New Business covering the International Wealth Management Business.

Role & Responsibilities:

 

 
 

 

  • Support the on-shore credit and portfolio risk analysts in daily risk management activities such as credit checks, allocating haircut / margin, portfolio monitoring and producing risk reports.
  • Participate in system change initiatives and working groups, ensure system readiness across the risk framework, review business requirement documents.
  • UAT testing for projects in the pipeline, and any ad hoc initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and increase operational efficiency.
  • Updating operational procedures within department.

  • Good understanding of financial products across different asset class (Bonds, Equities, Convertible Bonds, FX & IR Derivatives, Repos and Futures & Options), its valuation and risk sensitivities.
  • Well-versed with credit risk and market risk fundamentals – able to analyse and explain the financial risk (market risk, credit risk, liquidity, WWR) in trades and associated collaterals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter and ability to multi-task under pressure and meet various deadlines
  • Strong team player and a quick learner

 

  • Previous work experience in Financial Markets/Securities Financing/Wealth Management preferred.
  • Knowledge of general banking industry practices, including Non-Financial Risk Management
  • FRM / CFA level 2 or above preferred

 

 

Technical

  • Excellent PC skills with advanced competency in Microsoft Excel and Macros/VBA
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg and Tableau/Power BI

 

  • Proficient with Python and SQL/ Business Object would be a plus
  • Working knowledge of Avaloq
