Business Unit Overview:

 

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Business Analyst/Product Owner to join our Wealth Management Business Transformation team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of driving change and innovation within our wealth management division, working on high-impact projects that shape the future of our business. You will specialize in areas such as Managed Investments Solutions, Private Markets, Portfolio Management, Investment Advisory, and Discretionary Portfolio Management, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making processes. This role focuses on delivering multi-asset investment platform solutions that bridge product strategy and sales engagement, while ensuring robust compliance and operational excellence.

Role & Responsibilities:

Investment Solutions & Advisory Platform Transformation

  • Lead investment solutions and advisory platform implementation and enhancement initiatives spanning Capital Markets products and Managed Investment Solutions.
  • Drive platform capabilities for investment advisory, portfolio construction, order management, execution, and trade lifecycle processes.
  • Bridge the gap between product strategy teams and sales/advisory engagement by translating product initiatives into actionable platform requirements.
  • Support onboarding of new investment products and solutions across asset classes onto the platform.
  • Manage investment platform integrations for listed securities, OTC derivatives, structured products, and managed portfolio solutions.

Compliance Guardrails & Suitability Framework

  • Build and enhance compliance guardrails for investment disposition and suitability checks across all investment products.
  • Define requirements for automated pre-trade suitability assessments, risk profiling, and investment mandate compliance.
  • Work with Compliance and Legal teams to translate regulatory requirements into platform controls.
  • Ensure platform enforces proper disclosure requirements and best execution principles.

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from Product Strategy, Sales/Advisory teams, Investment Specialists, and Wealth Planning.
  • Translate complex investment product requirements and sales engagement needs into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Perform gap analysis and impact assessments for order management, trade capture, position management, and reporting enhancements
  • Document investment workflows, product lifecycles, and control frameworks.
  • Facilitate workshops with advisors, product managers, operations, compliance, and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Product Lifecycle Expertise

  • Leverage Avaloq core banking system for order and trade capture, position mirroring, and portfolio management workflows
  • Define requirements for investment products setup, pricing, corporate actions, and lifecycle events in Avaloq
  • Work with Avaloq functional teams on trade booking, settlement, and accounting processes
  • Support advisory workstation enhancements and client reporting capabilities
  • Ensure seamless integration between Avaloq and upstream/downstream investment systems.

Product Ownership & Backlog Management

  • Define and prioritize product backlog for investment platform initiatives based on business value, product strategy priorities, and sales needs
  • Create detailed user stories with acceptance criteria for investment advisory, product onboarding, and compliance functionality
  • Work with development teams in Agile/Scrum environment to deliver incremental value
  • Manage stakeholder expectations across Product Strategy, Sales, Operations, and Technology

User Acceptance Testing Leadership

  • Lead UAT for investment platform releases, defining scope, test scenarios, and success criteria across investment products
  • Coordinate testing with investment advisors, product specialists, operations, and compliance teams.
  • Manage defect resolution, track progress, and provide UAT sign-off upon meeting quality and regulatory standards.

Stakeholder Management & Process Optimization

  • Support project planning, tracking, and reporting across investment solutions and advisory platform initiatives
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation including requirements traceability and business process maps

Act as liaison between product strategy teams and sales/advisory community to ensure platform meets business needs

  • 5+ years of experience in Business analysis or Product Owner roles, with at least 3+ years with specialization in the wealth management financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of wealth management products, services, and regulatory environment, particularly in Managed Investments, Private Markets, Portfolio Management, Investment Advisory, and Discretionary Portfolio Management.
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Avaloq or similar core banking system, specifically in order and trade capture, position management, and portfolio workflows
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale transformation projects in the wealth management domain engaging cross-functional divisions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with business process modelling tools (e.g., Visio, BPMN) and financial modelling techniques
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification is preferred

 

 

  • Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in programming exposure in SQL, Python for data manipulation and business analytics
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
