Role & Responsibilities:

 

Global Trading Research (GTR) team is responsible for a wide variety of critical components, including a real-time analytics signal engine and a proprietary tick database for on-demand market data analysis. These technologies underpin the Experts trading platform which provides a suite of equity execution algorithms to Instinet’s institutional client base.

 

As part of our efforts to continue to deliver market-leading products, we are looking for an experienced VP to join the GTR development team and become a key player in technical innovation and modernization of our application stack. Working as part of our global team, the successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day development and support of this platform. The candidate would join a successful agile IT team, working closely with business in a highly collaborative environment.

 

This is an individual contributor position with high ownership / leadership within GTR IT team. The selected person would lead the India GTR IT team and would report to Global Head for GTR IT and GES Tech India Head.

 

In addition to building new features, we continue to make significant investments in our software development methodology, tooling and next generation platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with other regional development teams across London, New York, Hong Kong and Mumbai to further buildout these key areas and foster innovation.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver new features, enhancements and bug fixes to the platform as part of an agile team

 

  • Partner with our quantitative research group to deliver unique insight and signals into the trading platform.

 

  • Understand the existing business functions and participate in defining new solutions that meet business objectives.

 

  • Work with the product team, stakeholders and end-users for contribution towards requirement discovery and project prioritization.

 

  • Design and develop high-quality software deliveries within the committed deadlines. Deliver high performance high throughout architecture. Implement complex logic capable of handling billions of daily messages.

 

  • Provide and support bespoke solutions for key algorithmic trading clients

 

  • Partner with our test engineers to produce code with high test coverage using TDD and BDD techniques.

 

  • Refactoring and continuous improvement of the platform and stack.

 

  • Work in close collaboration with our support and operations group.

 

  • Willing to work and contribute across entire SDLC – including dev, testing and support. Collaborate with various development, QA and support teams across different regions. Willing to own deliveries and work hands-on across all aspects of software delivery including development, testing, documentation and support.

 

  • L3 support – quick support resolution of production and user issues, application testing and maintenance releases. Interface with other support teams, global internal and external clients related to support, use and output of the products. As part of global team, act as key contact point for queries of both technical and functional nature.

 

  • Contribute towards establishing software delivery best practices. Collaborate on architecture, design decisions, and code reviews
