Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Role Overview:

 

  • Engineer and automate database platforms build and administration tasks
  • Automate database & operating system version upgrades and security patching.
  • Automate database failover and failback
  • Automate database, user, and security management
  • Customize database vendor product to best fit Nomura environment
  • Automate database audit and compliance data collection
  • Automate and manage database CMDB property management
  • Follow Agile development method for automation
  • Enhance and maintain existing homegrown database management tools like Self Service Portal, CopyDB etc
  • Enhance and maintain database microservice API platform
  • Database infrastructure lifecycle and vulnerability management
  • Troubleshoot production database automation jobs, track failures and rollout fix.
  • Collaborate with production support team and implement database automation solutions for new and existing databases.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies
  • Willingness to work in global team & weekend support on need basis

 

Required Experience & Skills

 

Required Experience

  • 11-14 Years of relevant experience

 

The candidate must have the following skills and experience:

  • Expert in development and rollout of Ansible playbook, plugin, roles and template deployment on Ansible Tower
  • Expert in automation skills using Python, PowerShell, Shell Scripts, FastAPI, Gunicorn, Flask microservice and version control with Git Repository
  • Experience using Gitlab CI/CD for automated testing. Knowledge of Jenkins will be an added advantage
  • Experience of managing project using JIRA, Kanban & Structure Board
  • Experience of handing complex platform and database automation project
  • Hands on knowledge of DBA task of RDBMS MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle. MongoDB, Aurora and AWS RDS knowledge will be added advantage.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) using tools like Terraform
  • Hands on experience with Linux (RedHat 9.x or 8.x)
  • Knowledge of VMware platform & Redhat OpenShift
  • Exposure to large scale IT infrastructure automation and support
  • ITIL experience including change and incident management using SNOW
  • Experience in dashboarding tools e.g. PowerBI/Grafana & TOM will be an advantage
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of enterprise level Job scheduling using Autosys will be added advantage
  • Excellent English written, verbal, and presentation skills
