Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

The successful candidate will join a global, diverse team of engineers in a hands-on capacity to:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments, including development, testing, and production.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application deployment and performance on Kubernetes.
  • Implement security best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of Kubernetes environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and container orchestration.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies and features to enhance the efficiency and reliability of Kubernetes clusters.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance to team members on Kubernetes best practices and troubleshooting techniques.

 

Required Skills

  • Master/Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience working with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Working knowledge of Rancher/RKE2 and AWS EKS Kubernetes environments.
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman.
  • Experience in Gitlab, Helm, Flux/Argo CD, Container Image Repository etc.
  • Strong understanding of Linux systems administration and networking concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Kubernetes certification (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer)
  • Experience with micro services architecture and related technologies (e.g., Istio, Consul).
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud strategies and implementations.
