Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Role and Responsibilities

• Actively participate with technical delivery teams and contribute to code reviews, architecture reviews.
• Responsible for systems analysis - Design, Coding (test driven development), Unit Testing and other SDLC activities
• Design, document, and implement data architecture strategies including firm mandated standards w.r.t to security and risk controls and satisfying software requirements with necessary concerns of security, compliance, scalability, efficiency, and reliability
• Work in agile methodology and provide regular status updates to senior management.
• Automation of production processes development/testing processes where applicable
• Develop and maintain high performance, high available and scalable applications.

• Mentor and motivate team members

Mindset

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computing / business / quantitative discipline
• Very strong and current ‘hands-on’ development experience in core JAVA (v.8 or later), including multi-threading, and related technologies on Unix/Linux/Windows environment
• Should have experience on making architectural and design changes.
• Experience on Code reviews, agile methodology and mentoring.
• 9 to 14 years of Java development experience.
• Experience in REST services, JSON data, JDBC, JMX, JMS, Spring/Spring Boot, Camel
• Experience on working with micro services
• Experience on working with applications that are designed and deployed for High Availability
• Fluent in writing complex SQL (SQL Server, Oracle or similar).
• Deep understanding of the SDLC, DevOps processes, Agile methodologies, Design Patterns, Enterprise integration patterns
• Good understanding of financial products and capital markets.
• Proven track record delivering technical solutions in a complex global environment.
• Proven track record of delivering projects and managing project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working on AWS cloud
• Python 2 or 3
• Linux/Unix Shell Scripting
• Web development using ReactJS
• Big Data, Hadoop, Snowflake
