Role Description
|
As a GLOSS SME, you will play a pivotal role in Analyzing business requirements and implementing solutions using GLOSS (Global Settlement System) is a vendor product for settlements functions used by banks across the street and regions and Nomura’s Platinum tiered multi-company, multi-currency settlement and confirmation system supporting FX, Equity, Debt and Derivatives instruments having over 1000+ global users.
- Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable GLOSS solutions.
- Knowledge of Proprietary systems and Flow is critical.
- Proven ability to act as a bridge between the business and highly technical developers located in remote offices, translating business concepts into requirements that are implementable
- Be able to work locally with peer teams and remotely with Gloss BA’s and project lead
- Review and coordinate work for junior business analysts.
- Support development teams to ensure a solution meets its business requirements.
Manage senior stakeholders to ensure the entire project remain in sync; issues are resolved, and key decisions are made to deliver business results and customer value.
- Demonstrate a good understanding of functional and technical architectures.
- Report Project status for senior management, including risks and issues and path to green where appropriate.
- Specific and measurable KPI’s to be defined for the team
- Support the Department Lead in the communication of project vision, purpose, and measurable business/customer value KPI’s; working with Senior Leadership to align on these elements
- Develop project-level backlog of priorities, in-line with business strategy and KPIs
- Inspiring and empowering your team to deliver against the project’s priorities and KPI’s
- Using facts, data, and analysis to make hard decisions and trade-offs, especially related to resource allocation and prioritization of work
- Working closely with your Product Owners to drive alignment between project priorities and teams’ daily work
Empowering and enabling teams to realize their missions
- Coordinating with Product Owners and business Leaders to identify the right resources to support the projects priorities
- Engaging regularly with Product Owners on team output and providing the right level of feedback to enable team alignment and autonomy
Breaking down silos and improve working effectiveness by playing an ‘integrator’ role across the organization and across the organization as needed
- Collaborating with other project/department Leads and stakeholders to resolve escalated bottlenecks and dependencies
- Teaming with Leadership to help strengthen our people and functional capabilities
Engaging with stakeholders above and below you to advance the work of the project
- Support Senior PO in defining acceptance criteria for team output and providing feedback on work-in-progress as helpful to ensure alignment
- Ensuring Product Owners proactively seek out and consider the voice of the customer in defining their priorities
- Support the team Lead in representing the project and team interests to senior stakeholders within the organization leadership, and escalating blockers as needed

- Good knowledge in GLOSS and understands the flow of how the product works.
- Proven experience as a GLOSS SME/Business Analyst, with hands on exposure to analyzing and implementing solutions using GLOSS.
- Solid understanding of financial services concepts and terminology.
- Familiarity with financial systems and process within the banking industry.
- Knowledge of Agile delivery framework
- Knowledge of Security Settlements and consideration of upstream/downstream consumers is desirable
- Capital Markets experience: understanding of Equities, FX and Fixed Income Products.
- Experience of the software development lifecycle.
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Good database knowledge – ability to understand database schemas and write SQL queries.
- Should be able to deliver analysis using the following programs:
- JIRA
- Confluence
- Microsoft software products: Visio, Excel, PowerPoint
- SQL
