Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.
Division Details
The Unity Data Warehouse (UDW) platform is a business critical system and has been adopted by a number of GM and Corporate functions including FO Risk, Credit & Market Risk and Finance as part of the GM Data Strategy of rationalising Trade, Risk and Valuation data feeding from GM systems into Corporate Functions. We are looking to augment the UDW IT BA team with an additional business analyst to support demand for requirement writing, testing and other business analysis.
Role and Responsibilities
Support business analysis for all requirements raised by UDW consumers and projects, including but not limited to:
- Requirements writing, and functional testing for GM, Risk & Regulatory Projects.
- Investigation of data issues.
- Implementation of Data Quality checks and reconciliations.
- Creation of JIRAs based on technical implementation of user requirements after consulting with UDW subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Creating and maintaining documentation.
- Ad-hoc data analysis.
- Analyse front to back data flows across Front office and Risk systems.
- Actively participate in UDW release cycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information technology or computer science from a reputed school.
- 13+ years of experience in analytics and systems development for Risk Management or Front Office.
- Proven analytical and testing abilities.
- Knowledge of project lifecycle.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across various system users.
- Ability to turn complex concepts into simple language.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in writing requirements.
- Experience of Enterprise Data solutions (desirable).
- Proficiency with SQL.
- Python (desirable).
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
