Job Description – Analyst/ Sr. Analyst
DEPARTMENT:
Network Management (NetMan) is responsible for appointing and monitoring the performance of Nomura’s
network of Custodian/ Agent Banks and utilities globally in Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East-Africa, U.S.A &
Japan. NetMan interfaces both with the front office, when new products come on line requiring new services
and other support and control areas (principally Operations).
The department covers the requirements for all products traded by Nomura, in all markets covered by the four
regions.
There is also a strong control function within the team, as Network Management is also responsible for
opening and closing of external agent bank accounts and negotiating the associated documentation with legal
and compliance teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY TASKS:
NetMan needs to make contact with both External relationships, and internally where there is key interaction
with the Front Office, Operations, Legal, Compliance and Finance.
The role covers the following areas:
 Responsibility would include opening and closing of new agent bank/ Custodian accounts, liaising with
agent banks
 Ensuring that the appropriate systems and relevant support areas are updated with any account
openings/closings.
 Responsible for the maintenance of the Network Management Accounts Database – Myriad as well as
updating latest agreements, fee schedules, contact lists etc.
 Ensure day to day support to internal stakeholders and addressing queries from external agent bank
network.
 Ensuring the Network Management website is updated periodically - forward communication from our
service providers to Front & back offices
 Conduct the Annual Service Standard Review (SSR) where services provided by the agent banks are
evaluated by various internal stakeholders.
 Completing annual reconciliation of our records of accounts as per Network management database
MYRIAD, against agent bank records & updating missing information, identifying dormant accounts etc.
 Performing Due Diligence on our agent bank network.
 Responsibility for defining and maintaining control/ filing procedures around accounts mandates and
related documentation.
 Collation and analysis of clearance fee and volume data, in preparation for global analysis and maintain
spreadsheets detailing the transaction fee and volume information.
 Prepare market, account and clearance saves data and assist the Global NetMan team in the compilation
of monthly MIS reports.
 To check agent bank invoices against Fee schedules to ensure accurate billing & to report any
discrepancies that may results in saves/refunds.
 Ensure knowledge and understanding of all fee schedules for existing providers.
 Monthly input of fees charged by our agent bank network for major Nomura entities in FAST system.
 Perform daily review and action SWIFT Key RMA exchanges.
 Distribution of the latest market information to internal stakeholders received form Thomas Murray.
 Review daily internal reconciliation reports and investigate/ resolve breaks in timely manner
KEY COMPETENCIES/ REQUIREMENTS:
 Preferably experience of working in a back office function so as to understand the service requirements
expected from an agent bank/ Custodians
 Should be able to Articulate well as the role requires speaking to key stakeholders at senior level
internally & externally
 Excellent written and oral communication skills enabling the individual to liaise effectively with internal
senior management, market operations, front office and externally with the agent banks.
 Must have a strong sense of customer service and able to prioritise workload and expectations of
internal stakeholders.
 Ability to multi task as the role will involves working on numerous projects at the same time.
 Must have good analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
 Must be a team player with excellent organisational and coordination skills

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
For Fresher
 Mandatory - Candidate with basic software skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint as might be required
to work on excel to create Project plans, basic analysis, day-to-day MIS updation for senior
management, filtration, clean-up data, etc.
 Not mandatory but good to have - Advance Excel skills – PIVOT, VLOOK UP, to deliver tasks
efficiently and qualitatively
 Not mandatory but good to have - new GEN data science tool knowledge & applicability
 Project Management skills will be an advantage as such the nature of the role to work in planned/
organized manner
For Experienced Candidate
 Mandatory - Candidate with basic software skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint as might be required
to work on excel to create Project plans, basic analysis, day-to-day MIS updation for senior
management, filtration, clean-up data, etc.
 Mandatory - Advance Excel skills – PIVOT, VLOOK UP, writing basic macro’s etc which will help
individual to deliver tasks efficiently and qualitatively
 Preferably fair understanding of new GEN Data Science requirements and its applicability
 Preferably Data Analytics tools – usage & applicability of Power BI, Python, Tableau, Alteryx, etc
 Project Management skills will be an advantage as such the nature of the role to work in planned/
organized manner
