Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Division Overview:
The Operations division provides the support and control infrastructure that enables the Firm to develop and deliver financial products throughout the world. Working with the Sales, Trading and Information Technology Divisions, Operations professionals are responsible for the management and execution of transactions in a manner which maximizes profitability and minimizes risk. Our division is responsible for the management and execution of millions of securities, FX and OTC transactions daily. Our responsibilities include trade processing, confirmation, settlement, fails management, margin, asset servicing, risk management, reference data management and various other Client services. In partnership with sales, trading, prime services, information technology and other teams from across the Bank, we apply a continual focus on improving productivity and efficiency, while seeking new and innovative ways to support our clients’ changing needs.
Business Unit Overview:
The role of Shared Services is to support the activities of the Global Markets and IBD businesses. The division operates across many global legal entities in order to perform a diverse range of Client servicing, risk management and regulatory functions, as well as the more traditional clearing and settlement responsibilities. Specifically, India Shared Services provides a level of support for all the regions and entities that the above services are provided in locally.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Hands-On Drafting: Perform complex Equity Derivatives confirmation drafting for structured products (Including: EQS, TRS, Index Swaps, Index Options, Basket Swaps, Basket Options, Auto-callable, Barrier Options, Accumulator/ Decumulator, Basket Options) using ISDA documentation hierarchy. Execute risk-based prioritization with T+5 focus for internal dependencies.
- Quality Review & First Time-Right Excellence: Serve as primary reviewer for all EQ derivatives drafts prepared by Drafting pod.
- Operational Leadership & Performance Monitoring: Support daily Drafting pod to execute relevant and critical tasks. This includes - Backlog dynamics, Allocation, Internal Dependency coordination, Driving conversation with Legal, FO, MO, Sales for NEW Template negotiation, NEW product coverage.
- Training & Regulatory Compliance: Train and develop FTEs on EQ derivatives product knowledge and ISDA documentation; ensure compliance with ISDA Best Practice, EMIR and CFTC.
- Template Automation: Ensure new products and manual drafted confirmations are tracked and automated via Thunderhead development.
- Governance: Help govern Drafting Pod risk parameters such as trades non-dispatched since inception > 5 days, revisions required are dispatched within 3 days, First-Time-Right Quality governance, drafters and reviewers’ inflow vs outflow mitigation.
- Contribute towards Firm-wide Transformation Projects.
Requirements
- 10-12 years of relevant industry experience and specifically Confirmation drafting experience.
- High ethical standards and strong control mind-set
- Demonstrates Executive presence in interactions with various stakeholders
- Ability to manage alliances, Client relationships and cross functional initiatives
- Technical Skills/ Business Domain, Soft Skills, OTC Confirmations operations background
- Highly Motivated and excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in high pressure environment
- Ability to analyse and troubleshoot issues and positively impact the firm and derive solutions
- Understands risk parameters in the OTC Confirmations Team and helps mitigate them effectively.
- Translate data into key business metrics and decision making
- Build a culture and process to identify, mitigate and control operational risk, audit and regulators
- Require in depth understanding and experience of Trade life cycle
- Expertise in technical skills like Alteryx, Power BI, Robotics, Machine Learning etc.
