Divisional Overview:

 

Risk Management Division in Powai has the following functions – Credit risk, Market risk, Quant risk, Operational risk and Market Risk Middle Office.

 

 

Business Unit Overview:

 

Market Risk Management works to identify, monitor and control the firm’s exposure to risk, analyze stress test results, and provide analysis on new products and businesses. Powai Market Risk managers liaise with the risk managers in the trading centres on a daily basis to help manage their market exposure, set & review risk strategies. Major activities involve  daily analysis and interpretation of the results of risk sensitivities; validation of VaR, Incremental Risk Change, Economic Capital numbers and sign-off on the relevant Risk systems & preparation of risk reports for traders and senior business management. Risk managers are also expected to re-engineer the risk reporting process and provide ad-hoc risk views and drill down analysis of less transparent risks and issues of importance to senior Risk Management/Trading Heads

 

Functional Overview:

The Job posting is for the COO team which is a part of the Market Risk Division. Market Risk Management works to identify, monitor and control the firm’s exposure to risk, analyze stress test results, and provide analysis on new products and businesses. Powai Market Risk managers liaise with the risk managers in the trading centers on a daily basis to help manage their market exposure, set & review risk strategies. Major activities involve  daily analysis and interpretation of the results of risk sensitivities; validation of Value At Risk (VaR), RWA, Economic Capital numbers and sign-off on the relevant Risk systems, working on global projects for enhancement of Market Risk & preparation of risk reports for traders and senior business management. Risk managers are also expected to automate/re-engineer the risk reporting process and provide ad-hoc risk views and drill down analysis of less transparent risks and issues of importance to senior Risk Management/Trading Heads

Role & Responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to provide the operational and business management support to the Global Market Risk COO team. The role will be focused primary on the production of the Market Risk Management Information (including but not limited to committee materials, Market Risk Management updates, KRIs reporting, etc.), as well as day-to day operational support of the Market Risk Management function.

 

The Market Risk COO Associate will be a member of the Global Market Risk COO team and supporting the Market Risk function in designing, communicating and executing a comprehensive and consistent global operating framework, strategic and operational decisions, and providing efficient and effective daily operational support to the Market Risk COO team and Market Risk Management team focusing on all regional and supporting wider global Market Risk change initiatives.

 

The role involves regular engagement with senior stakeholders within global MRM teams and the wider risk function e.g. Market Risk change team, Risk and Controls team, Operational Risk team etc.

 

1)    The risk control framework – provide appropriate support on the Market risk control framework reviews including RCSA management, Audit Issue tracking, Policy & Procedure reviews, annual and quarterly attestations etc

2)    MI Reporting – provide appropriate analysis and subsequent creation of stakeholders decks and MI for MR COO deliverables e.g. materials for committees/ forums/ meetings etc.

3)    Strategic Change Management – support and contribute to the change management project initiatives e.g. provide support and relevant Market Risk input to the RMEP projects, MRL enhancements etc.

4)    Regulatory Initiatives – support Market Risk Regulatory initiatives by participating in the relevant working group sessions and provide and input

5)    BAU and Ad hoc activities – e.g. coordinate or support the annual EUC attestation process across Market Risk, drive the MRM process & reports improvements etc,
