Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • The Asia Trading Systems Support (TSS) team is our prestigious, highly skilled, technical and business-facing team within Nomura spanning across India, Australia and Hong Kong. The team provides trading technology services to Nomura’s electronic, portfolio trading and high-touch sales teams across the region. Collaborating globally with US and EU regions, TSS strives to improve, build and architect Nomura’s trading platform to become the leading example of all execution trading platforms.      
  • We put our clients and users of our execution trading platform first. The financial industry is always changing, and we need Trading Support Analysts who are passionate about tackling technology and workflow problems that lead to the best customer experience.
  • In the role, you will work with development, product and business users to deliver stability, control and trading solutions to our core trading platform. You can interpret, diagnose and define problems, apply creativity and critical thinking with a thirst for learning about technology and its application in trading.
  • Above all, you are a team-player with the ability to communicate ideas/solutions to your teammates with a passionate drive to explore your curiosity and improve the trading platform.
  • We continuously evolve our execution trading platform with the aim to deliver an unparalleled user experience and trading platform performance. You could be working on any number of products and projects on the core trading platform. Duties & responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):

  • Investigate and resolve issues methodically with a sense of urgency and a high-level of professionalism
  • Understand financial markets, technology, trading applications, and the trade lifecycle in depth
  • Stay current with financial and technological trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Work collaboratively with regional and global teams as needed across trading, technology, risk and compliance to deliver strategic and client-driven solutions for some of the largest and most prestigious institutional clients in the industry
  • Monitor, analyze and maintain the health of the Nomura GES core trading platform
  • Hands-on deployment of trading applications preparation, execution and verification
  • Generate reports on system performance and upon business requirements
  • Focus on efficiency and sustainable support that can scale
  • Shift: Mon to Friday 7.00 am IST to 4.00 pm IST; Mon to Friday 8.30 am IST to 5.30 pm IST; Weekend support – Saturday, as required. A comp off is provided in lieu of full day weekend support

 

 

Mandatory Skill Set :

 

  • Investment Banking domain –understanding of equity capital markets

 

  • Prior trading systems support experience

 

  • Prior Trading Operations Support Experience

 

  • Familiarity with front-end trading applications

 

  • FIX support

 

  • Strong Unix/Linux skills – well versed in tasks like file editing, system resource monitoring, running and scheduling processes, and troubleshooting system issues.

 

  • Basic Scripting – shell scripting or Python scripting

 

  • Basic SQL

 

  • Working knowledge of Java application support would be an advantage

 

  • Service request and ticketing tracking tools experience i.e. jira

 

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, and collaboration tools

 

  • Exposure to release management

 

  • Exposure to scheduling products, such as Autosys or crontab

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (as this is a trading desk facing role)

 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

 

  • Strong ability to multi-task while remaining detail oriented.

 

  • Quick learner

 

  • Highly proactive and takes initiative to identify problem areas to evolve solutions.

 

  • Client focused and attentive to business-critical issues

 

  • Good teamwork skills and ability to build solid professional relationships

 

 

Desired Skill Set :

 

  • Prior experience on automation of any support processes is a plus.
