Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.
- Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of finance production systems to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Provide day-to-day operational support, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues related to finance applications and databases. Collaborate with regional teams across different time zones to manage and resolve production incidents effectively.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and front-office support staff, to provide technical support and ensure seamless system integration.
- Analyse system performance and usage patterns to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Develop, modify, and maintain Unix shell scripts and other scripting tools to automate processes and enhance system efficiency.
- Perform root cause analysis of system errors and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Responsible for availability, incident, problem, and capacity management for all applications in scope.
- Liaise with users to ensure production incidents are resolved on a timely basis and that remedial actions are taken. Manage and keep track of production issues, follow up incident postmortem to mitigate root cause.
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Provide weekend support for maintenance activities and ad-hoc tasks to ensure system reliability and availability. Assist in the deployment and support of new finance applications and tools.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures to maintain comprehensive knowledge management.
- Work on ad hoc projects and provide support for strategic initiatives within the investment banking division.
- Manage and document all changes in accordance with established change management policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with audit teams to provide evidence of compliance and support audits as needed.
