Divisional Overview:

Wholesale Data Services and Operations Technology support two major functions within Nomura –

  • It provides foundational architectural solutions for market and reference data that powers Nomura’s business. This team is an integral part of Nomura that is responsible for developing and maintaining systems that manage acquisition and distribution of data for the entire organization including front office, middle office, back office, risk, finance and various AI based analytics systems.
  • It is responsible for supporting trade settlement and transaction processing technology platform. This team provides day-to-day support for the middle office, operations and regulatory users, and manages vendor and in-house applications. WO IT also owns the applications that provide trade settlement data services to other technology teams from Operations, Finance, Risk, Regulatory and Compliance.

Role & Responsibilities:

 

Role Overview:

Market Platform Services manages a suite of critical market access applications, ensuring seamless connectivity between Nomura and key financial market participants. This includes maintaining and supporting an extensive network of applications across multiple asset classes including Rates, FX, and Credit, as well as providing specialized technical support for Primary Dealer Auction facilities. The team plays a vital role in enabling Nomura's trading operations by ensuring reliable, high-availability access to critical market infrastructure

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical support for 100+ Critical Market Access applications, including 9 Primary Dealers Auction platforms
  • Oversee connectivity management for all Market Platform Services products
  • Lead MIFID onboarding processes and reporting requirements across supported venues
  • Administer trading user accounts and access
  • Address technical inquiries from traders and serve as a liaison between business units and vendors
  • Execute change management processes
  • Foster and maintain strategic relationships with business teams and vendor management
  • Coordinate major incident response
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact trading operations
  • Lead project management initiatives with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • New software release coordination; System deployment; Connectivity modifications
  • Manage and own 65+ software packages
  • Maintain and update global team knowledge base with current procedures and policies

 

Skills & Experience Required

  • 5+ years’ experience in financial services technology or trading systems support
  • Experience working directly with traders on the trading floor and resolving issues in real-time
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment
  • A strong sense of customer service and the ability to prioritise workload and the expectations of internal users
  • Experience with Market Data systems, such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Tradeweb etc
  • Understanding of financial markets across Rates, FX, and Credit asset classes
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with incident management and ITIL processes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Project management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Work well within an extended team environment and take a keen interest in developing the function
  • Confidence to represent the team at internal meetings and stakeholder discussions

 

Desirable Skill Set:

  • Experience with regulatory requirements (MIFID II)
  • Knowledge of network protocols and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience with vendor management and third-party integrations
  • Previous experience in a Primary Dealer environment
