JBS, Japan Business Services, supports IT application requirements for multiple business lines like Wealth Management, Investment Banking etc. Wealth Management business specializes in providing personalized services to high-net-worth individuals, while Investment Banking business works with corporate clients on their requirements for M&A. These business cater to the needs of our clients by delivering bespoke solutions that leverage our global markets, investment banking, research, trust service and asset management expertise.

 

Key Support activities of Wealth Management include:

Role Overview

 

A successful candidate will join the JBS IT team, which manages multiple applications across Wealth Management business, Investment Banking business in Japan. This role involves collaboration with Japan based WM IT, JBS-ITProgram management team to deliver strategic technical solutions and maintenance of existing systems. Candidate will be part of the Powai JBS IT team. The position interfaces with diverse stakeholders and requires strong communication skills (Japanese language proficiency is a plus but not mandatory).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Role & Responsibilities

 

  1. Lead the process of requirement gathering, designing and delivering the technical solutions while ensuring alignment with development and business objectives. Own technical implementation of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including implementation and release management.
  2. Well versed in Agile way of working with experience in Sprint Planning, Execution etc.
  3. Conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting for production issuesAct as the primary tech owner for resolving complex queries and ensuring timely responses.
  4. Lead tech team for the UAT, PROD release processes by collaborating with the QA team and regional operations teams (including Japan) to ensure all releases meet quality standards.
  5. Take ownership of the technical deliverables, continuously enhancing test suite to ensure comprehensive test coverage and high-quality code deliverables.
  6. Foster strong collaboration and communication across global development, QA and support teams. Engage with cross-functional IT teams to ensure cohesive project execution and alignment on goals.
  7. Actively participate in firm-wide strategic initiatives, contributing technical expertise and insights to support organizational objectives.
  8. Enhance and support the JBS IT frameworks, ensuring they are robust and scalable to meet evolving business demands.

Essential:

Technical:

•     Should have 5-10 years of developer experience in Java, Spring and associated technology.

•     Fundamental knowledge in Core Java is must along with good understanding of basic design patterns.

•     Good understanding of Java-Database connectivity (JDBC, Persistence API, Spring-JDBC).

•     Knowledge in Spring Boot and Spring framework is required.

•     A good understanding of webservices (REST based) is expected.

•     Working on Stored Procedure and SQL is required.

•     Experience in Tools like Jira, Gitlab is expected.

•     Working knowledge of Containerization technology is expected.

•     Strong understanding of CI-CD tools, Cloud native applications is expected.

 

Domain

  • Exposure to retail banking domain is plus.
  • Cyberark, Sensitive data handling system exposure is preferred but not mandatory
  • Japanese work culture exposure is preferred but not mandatory
