Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide Application, System Monitoring and Production Support for alerts by investigating into job failures and general queries
  • Proactive Monitoring of the critical flows during critical time of the day or during key events
  • Incident management including communication to business users, IT stakeholders, root cause analysis, follow ups with application owners, documentation of the sequence of events and issue resolution
  • Ownership of DR testing, DR plan and execution
  • Release and change review ensuring all Nomura change processes are followed
  • Release deployment using Nomura approved tools
  • Ensure that production systems are available after weekend maintenance or weekend releases
  • Automation of production processes where applicable
  • Maintain high performance, high available and scalable applications working with development teams

 

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4 to 9 years of production support or development experience with strong SQL skills
  • Experience with data processing platforms – AWS EMR, Hadoop, Spark, Java
  • Experience with Messaging Systems such as Kafka, Solace, Pulsar
  • 2+ years of working experience in building and supporting Cloud Data solutions, preferably in AWS with hands-on experience with Cloud Data Lake/Data Warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS redshift/Spectrum
  • Understanding of core AWS services, uses, and basic AWS architecture best practices
  • Proficiency in deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS, Python, Java
  • Ability to use a CI/CD pipeline to deploy applications on AWS and on-premise
  • Ability to work and communicate with both business and technical experts
  • College or University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant degree

  • Python 2 or 3, Strong SQL skills
  • Linux/Unix Shell Scripting
  • Big Data, Hadoop, Snowflake
