Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Research IT is looking for a skilled full-stack web developer and AWS lead developer with a strong foundation in full-stack web application development and a successful history of creating and maintaining cloud applications.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated to deliver high-quality systems on public cloud platforms, with a focus on delivering value for business users.

They should be an effective communicator and adept at collaborating with the team and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

* Architecting and implementing cloud solutions for our applications, automating cloud operations and cloud deployment

* Recognize the current application infrastructure and create a plan to modernize our application stack and migrate to the cloud

* Develop different AWS services, including API Gateway and Lambda to build serverless applications

* Ensure that the cloud architecture is secure, and work closely with IT security to ensure that the security posture continually improves

* Focus on delivering high-quality solutions in an efficient, cost-effective manner

* The candidate would also be involved in the development of full stack applications in Java spring boot and React

* Collaborate and communicate with the dev team, infrastructure, and the business users.

* Write technical documentation and generate system container and component diagrams.

* Comfortable to work on tight timelines, when required

Requirements (indicate mandatory and/or preferred):
 

Mandatory

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in planning, designing, developing, architecting, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles and AWS Services, preferably Lambda and API Gateways
  • Previous experience in handling large-scale systems design
  • Solid prior experience is developing full stack applications in Java, Spring Boot and React or other modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Proficiency in tools like Terraform or AWS cloud formation for cloud deployments
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Should have strong listening, problem solving, analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Good team player who would be required to work closely with the regional teams

 

Preferred

Relevant AWS Certification is a plus
