The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a key function within GCIO and our purpose is aligned to the GCIO Strengthen & Protect strategic pillar. We are a global team focused on strengthening our non-financial risk management framework enabling the business to accelerate strategic delivery, whilst enhancing our ability to dynamically manage risks and evidence that we are operating in control.
CCO function is on a multi-year global transformation journey which starts with building the right foundations especially the right skills and capabilities within our global team.
Nomura in Powai is looking for a Business Manager to support the Global Group CIO CCO Business Manager who is based in EMEA (London). The candidate will work closely with other key managers within the CCO function in EMEA, India, Japan and Singapore, and with the Business Management and Finance Shared Services teams based in Powai.
This is an excellent opportunity for a business manager looking for a career development opportunity. They will play a pivotal role in establishing - and then managing - the GCIO Chief Controls Office during a global transformation programme. This requires a strong and experienced business manager candidate to work independently, forward plan, use initiative and judgement, and be proactive in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Key responsibilities:
- Financial Management
- Manage global CCO financials in partnership with Finance, including monthly financial and headcount reporting and forecast, and planning and managing the annual budget.
- Produce monthly financial reports, including explains for variances and tracking of P&L to plan.
- Review month-end accruals, pre-payments and postings to ensure accurate monthly financials.
- Review purchase / spend requests for adherence to budget.
- Manage cost and project allocation process to facilitate accurate cost dispersments, ensuring appropriate review and sign off with the business.
- Workforce Management.
- Monitor workforce plan, including hiring pipeline vs budget, joiner/leaver process in coordination with HR, on-boarding and off-boarding of staff.
- Support HR Position management and changes to CCO organizational structure
- Project/ Portfolio Support. Support Project and Portfolio management; timesheet governance and planning/ monitoring portfolio structure to support allocations process.
- Vendor Management. Oversight and support of CCO invoice processing (from PR to invoicing to accruals)
- Advisory and Governance. Support strategic planning execution and governance – and monitor compliance for mandatory training, appraisals etc. And assist with ad hoc / day-to-day requests, office management and general administration.

- Financial Management – preferred experience with forecasting and budgeing; working knowledge of concepts of Cash, P&L, Capitalisation and Accruals; ability to analyze and present financial reports.
- Tools – High proficiency with Excel and proficiency with PowerPoint
