This role sits within the Equities Technology Team, part of Global Markets Technology, supporting the Equities Risk platform—currently undergoing significant modernization and enhancement. The team builds and maintains software solutions for Equities Global Markets Front and Middle Office businesses. With developers located across major financial centres (US, UK, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and India) and Business Analysts distributed globally, the team operates in a truly international environment

 

Role description:

 

This is a hybrid Release Manager and Business Analyst role combining technical release orchestration with business-facing analytical capabilities.

 

The Release Manager role is responsible for orchestrating software releases, managing delivery pipelines, and supporting development teams spanning ASIA, UK, and US time zones. This role requires strict adherence to release management guidelines while providing comprehensive support to distributed development teams through robust JIRA-based processes. 

 

The Business Analyst aspect of the role is responsible for managing the scope and prioritisation of workstreams that are driven from both internal needs and external demands. The role will work closely with the business, change teams and functional consumers to deliver complex front to back change to enable the business to scale.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Release Management:

  • Plan, schedule, and execute software releases following strict release management guidelines and governance frameworks
  • Maintain release calendars, deployment windows, and lead release readiness reviews
  • Coordinate release activities and manage handoffs between development teams
  • Configure and maintain JIRA workflows, screens, and schemes to support release management processes
  • Create and manage release-specific JIRA projects, epics, and version tracking
  • Establish and enforce JIRA hygiene standards across development teams

 

 

Business Analysis:

  • Lead business analysis for Global Equities strategic initiatives and translate into requirements
  • Partner with stakeholders to define, document and prioritise requirements
  • Build and drive delivery plans across multiple Technology and Business teams, managing scope, timelines and resources
  • Partner with development and testing teams to ensure a detailed understanding of requirements
  • Manage project conflicts, dependencies, and risk risks throughout delivery, escalating issues and maintaining stakeholder alignment

Lead and take part in governance forums with transparent progress reporting

 

 

Essential Requirements:

 

  • Degree from accredited university or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of equities products / trading systems
  • 3+ years of release management experience in technology environments
  • Strong JIRA administration skills including workflow configuration and reporting
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle and release processes
  • Good communication skills with ability to coordinate across different teams
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail for process compliance

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • JIRA certification or advanced JIRA experience
  • Experience with Confluence and other Atlassian tools
  • Experience with DevOps tools
  • Agile/Scrum experience and process improvement initiatives
