EMEA CFS Overview:

Business Unit Overview: 

 

Investment Banking Powai team is an extension of the regional Investment Banking (Front Office) teams supporting the following key areas: 

  • M&A
  • Coverage / Sector Banking 
  • Client Financing & Solutions (CFS)

 

This COO team sits within the Investment Banking Support team and the division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. 

 

Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business. 

 

This particular role is within the COO/ Business Management team. The IBD COOs play a strategic role in delivering the Investment Banking business agenda. They work closely with the regional IBD COO team to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

Role & Responsibilities: 

 

 

Role: 

 

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the EMEA CFS/IBD COO team, based in Powai, specifically partnering with the EMEA CFS COO team based in London
  • The individual will be joining an existing team of EMEA CFS COOs and will assume day-today responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing infrastructure/processes which support EMEA Investment Banking as well as managing key projects that are critical for the growth and day-to-day operation of the franchise
  • Work closely and in partnership with EMEA CFS COO team covering sales, 

trading, research and structuring

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Owning and Driving business initiatives to achieve EMEA CFS COO business objectives; both regional and global in nature. Opportunity to specialize in specific product areas 

 

  • Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations
    • Help devise and implement new business initiatives in partnership with the COO team / Front Office as well as corporate functions
    • Create presentations to analyze and summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption, client interactions and other management reporting metrics
    • Monitor preparation / Prepare   weekly   business   summaries   which   include financial   metrics   and   business commentary for Senior Management 
    • Prepare management presentations including business plans, business reviews, offsite presentations, town halls

 

  • Partnering  with  Technology,  Operations,  Finance  and  other  Corporate  functions: 
    • To own day-to-day issues pertaining to corporate function and ensure successful closure
    • Drive the process for new products from the Front Office in co-ordination with the front office/ new products team and corporate functions
    • Be able to take a lead role in the review, automation and streamlining of any functions

 

  • Control and Conduct
    • Ensuring adherence to business policies
    • Owning Audit points and driving successful closure

  • Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, senior management reporting, situational
  • Prior experience of driving initiatives in the banking / capital markets space
  •  Is entrepreneurial and independent; a self-starter, takes ownership, exhibits integrity, initiative, strong motivation and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure
  •  Strong MS Power-point, Excel and Word skills
