Divisional Overview:

Nomura is currently in the process of establishing a new Global Sourcing function to operate across Nomura Group companies, regions and functions to deliver an ongoing contribution to cost efficiency and commercial/contract risk mitigation associated with vendor engagements, and drive efficiencies through spend category commercial support, vendor/contract consolidation and Group-wide economies of scale.

Role & Responsibilities:

Leading Digital Sourcing & Sourcing Data Analytics workstreams within Group Sourcing CoE part of the wider global Group Sourcing function. Making an ongoing & tangible contribution towards developing new ways of working & striving for excellence with everything that we do within Group Sourcing function.

 

A] Digital Sourcing

  • This leader role is responsible for shaping and driving the digital strategy, technology enablement and user experience within the Group Sourcing function.
  • Define and execute the digital roadmap for Group Sourcing, aligning with enterprise technology and business strategies. And lead a team responsible for the vision, roadmap, implementation, and support of Source-to-Contract (S2C) technology solutions in order to drive standardization, compliance, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives that simplify the Sourcing journey for business users by deploying advanced digital tools and optimizing end-to-end processes to deliver efficiency, transparency and value creation across the enterprise.
  • Responsible for Global Service Delivery of SAP Ariba S2C Support, Governance & Maintenance
  • Agree, Map and Maintain Group Sourcing Process Documents.
  • Partner with Sourcers, business leaders, and suppliers to influence digital adoption and mindset shift.
  • Identify pain points and streamline the Sourcing interface for internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Champion adoption by creating intuitive self-service tools and digital assistant capabilities.
  • Define KPIs for Group Sourcing and monitor performance against these metrics.
  • Act as a change agent, embedding digital-first and user-centric culture across Sourcing.
  • Mentor & develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous development.

 

B] Sourcing Data Analytics

  • Responsible for designing, delivering and scaling Data Analytics capabilities across Group Sourcing.
  • Lead the development and application of Advanced Analytics to analyze Sourcing data, identifying trends, opportunities for cost reduction, drive decision-making & optimize Sourcing activities.
  • Lead the design and delivery of Group Sourcing KPI dashboards, covering areas such as Sourcing, Contracting, Spend Data, Budget Data, Cost Boards, Deal Portfolio (Spend & Saves Tracker), etc.
  • Lead analytics initiatives from discovery through to delivery and BAU support.
  • The role focuses on transforming fragmented, manual KPI reporting into governed, automated and insight-driven dashboards that support operational performance, leadership decision-making and the evolving global organisation structure.
  • Translate business KPI definitions and operational logic into scalable data models and automated reporting solutions using Power BI and Data Lake ingestion.
  • Automate data extraction, transformation and refresh cycles from source systems where possible.
  • Collaborate with senior Sourcing leaders to integrate Data Analytics into all aspects of Sourcing strategy. Use Data Insights to support negotiations, supplier selection, and category management.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization to communicate data-driven insights and recommendations. Facilitate the adoption of analytics-driven approaches within Sourcing.
  • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, timely, auditable and aligned to agreed governance standards.
  • Maintain a clear KPI framework including definitions, ownership, refresh cadence and assumptions.
  • Coordinate dependencies across teams, data sources and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure solutions are operationally ready, with appropriate documentation, support models and data quality controls in place.
  • Mentor and support team members on Power BI and Data Analytics best practices.

  • Increased adoption and satisfaction with Sourcing tools and processes.
  • Ensure digital investments deliver measurable business outcomes including cost savings, risk reduction, improved compliance and improved supplier collaboration.
  • Higher efficiency by reduction of Sourcing cycle times and user effort.
  • High stakeholder engagement and positive business feedback on Sourcing’s role as a strategic partner.

 

Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required

  • The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of Sourcing & Procurement, Digital Procurement, Change Management and having User-centric Data drive design principles.
  • Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) in Operations, Supply Chain, Technology or related field. MBA + BE IT/Comps ideally preferred.
  • 9 to 12 years of progressive experience in Global Sourcing & Procurement GCC/CoE setup, held various Digital Transformation & Data Analytics roles, with at least 5 years in leadership capacity.
  • Experience in global BFSI sector may be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Ability to motivate, organise and develop team members
  • Proven experience in deploying large-scale S2P technology (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua, Oracle, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of S2P processes, category management, and supplier engagement models.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends, and derive actionable insights
  • Experience in data visualization tools like Tableau & Power BI (data modelling, DAX, performance optimisation).
  • Strong understanding of KPI frameworks, performance measurement and reporting governance.
  • Ability to translate complex operational processes into clear, automated analytics solutions. 
  • Track record of delivering measurable outcomes through process transformation, automation and user experience redesign.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically while driving operational execution.
  • Thoughtful and active listener, able to think quickly and effectively articulate points of view.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring deliverables are fully met on-time.
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision from the Manager.
