Division Overview:

 

Global Markets Division: Based in Mumbai, the front-office team which works on a team extension model delivers pricing, modelling and risk management expertise to the Global Markets business. Founded as a centre of excellence, the group leads the way in price discovery and portfolio optimization techniques and is integral to the business’ aggressive revenue targets. The team is playing an integral role in structuring, pricing, risk management and new idea generation.

 

Team Overview

 

The Futures & Options Connectivity Client Services team is responsible for managing Nomura’s Futures & Options Electronic trading offering. This primarily means overseeing client distribution, development of / integration with the electronic platform, and supporting electronic trading activity. The team supports businesses globally and there is heavy interaction with sales, trading, technology, operations and external clients/vendors.

The Electronic Client Service team is responsible for supporting Nomura’s Futures & Options electronic trading offering to clients 24/5.5. This primarily means configuration of clients for trading on a number of Platforms. The team provides real time first line customer support to clients and proactively monitors flows across platforms to identify, resolve and escalate issues.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for working with regional stakeholders in EMEA/Asia/US for On-boarding new futures clients to trade electronically on various execution platforms like Bloomberg, Fidessa and Trading Technologies.
     
  • Core BAU tasks will involve, providing 1st/2nd line execution support (over phone, email, Bloomberg, in person) to internal & external futures trading client base. Issues range from order/trade queries, FIX issues, limit setup, front-end EMS functional queries, exchange queries, ad-hoc business requests.

 

  • Work as part of a global team providing 24x6 follow-the-sun coverage to Nomura’s clients, taking direction from on-shore colleagues in Hong Kong, London, New York, Japan.
     
  • Manage Client/Vendor FIX onboarding process front to back from UAT to Production go-live.

 

  • Collaborate with developers to resolve system design deficiencies and delivery of enhancements.

 

  • Order Flow monitoring for order failures & rejections and supporting trade execution requests.

 

 

 

Mind Set:

 

Mandatory:

 

  • Minimum 2/3 years of experience working within markets.
  • Understanding of global futures & options products and business, or similar Asset Class
  • Good understanding and exposure to FIX protocol and basic UNIX is essential
  • Background in integration and electronic on-boarding of clients in a trade floor environment, and/or in-depth knowledge of associated systems
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills are critical.
  • Hands-on Python and technology mind-set is a must.

 

 

Desired:

  • Excellent team work and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi task and work in a high pressure and dynamic environment is critical.
  • Hands-on on Fidessa, Bloomberg EMSX, Bloomberg Tradebook, Trading Technologies.
  • Programming skills in VBA, Python or similar scripting skills for process automation and data manipulation a plus.
  • Effective Documentation writing skills for drafting of / contribution to procedural documents
  • This is a client-facing technical role with exposure to front office. Personnel must have a strong client orientation and show a high sense of urgency towards client needs.
  • Candidate should be comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and able to suggest opportunities for increasing efficiency and improving team processes.
