Divisional Overview:

Global Markets Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets teams supporting Securitized Products, Rates, FX, Credit and Equities. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

 

 

 

 

Business Overview:

Nomura’s Global Markets Quantitative Investment Strategies team has cross-market coverage encompassing equities, rates, currencies, credit and commodities. This role will focus on designing, pricing and publishing systematic strategies.

 

Team takes a data-driven approach, working closely with quantitative research team, sales team and traders to develop investment strategies. It helps generate revenue by working with internal and external clients, providing insights and actionable ideas to manage risk exposures and deliver trading strategies. The team has won several prestigious mandates from leading clients against competition from both buy-side and sell-side firms.

 

Team in Mumbai deals works closely with trading, structuring and sales team across the Globe i.e. US, London, Singapore, HK and Tokyo. The team generates trade ideas and publishes independent research on quantitative investing. It also develops analytical tools for sales, structuring, trading and clients.

Role & Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire platform engineer to work on our infrastructure/platform build out for QIS indices. This position is for talented programmer with experience in QIS business and related fields with an inquisitive spirit and extensively contribute to digital transformation of the business.

 

The role involves -

  • Lay out a comprehensive architecture that provides the groundwork for various tools for analytics around QIS products
  • Overseeing the ongoing performance of existing infrastructure/platform through reactive and proactive support, monitoring and reporting
  • Develop analytics to assist in smarter risk management of the QIS books
  • The individual will work very closely with structurers/traders across various markets to build a wide spectrum of tools.
  • Engineering innovation solutions using a variety of approaches such as time-series forecasting predictive modelling, cluster analysis, dimensionality reduction etc.
  • Develop and manage quantitative analytics to identify the market dislocations and opportunities in equities markets.
  • Guiding QIS strategies through the entire development lifecycle including back testing, preparing standardized rulebooks, and driving the productionization of indices through the internal review and approval process.
