Business Unit Overview:

The Treasury Product Control function serves as a core finance control function, focusing on the management of the Funds Transfer Pricing process, as well as the analysis and monitoring of Unsecured Funding (UF) usage across the business.  This role supports the Treasury Funding Desk, Planning team, and the Business, by ensuring the accuracy of our UF reporting, providing related MI to senior management, and the reconciliation and analysis of Treasury PL.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Daily UF monitoring and projections, Treasury PL review and analysis
  • Understanding daily summary of funding charges, including day-over-day variance analysis
  • Interaction with Trading, Operations, and Other Product Control Groups to resolve booking, valuation, and financial resource usage related issues.
  • Understanding drivers of UF movements across various businesses
  • Ensure daily and monthly P&L is accurately reported to the FO.
  • Preparation and review of Guarantee exposure reports/ day on day movement on daily basis.
  • To ensure that the relevant P&L and Balance sheet positions are correctly reported at month ends and that the applicable reconciliations have been completed and all issues identified/resolved.
  • Ensuring proper controls are in place as measured by KRI metrics
  • Closing of the firm’s books and records, including required manual journal entries and Balance Sheet substantiation
  • Ensure that applicable accounting standards are adhered to regarding P&L and Balance Sheet reporting.
  • Periodic review of various internal policies and controls and implement any change required.
  • Independently handle various audit requirement of regulatory audit, internal audit, statutory audit & other compliance reviews along with working towards the closure of audit findings.
  • Liaising with other internal and external areas of finance to ensure timely resolution of queries and timely completion of Project assigned.
  • Independently handle PC related projects
  • Ensuring that sufficient backs up are created for all team deliverables
  • Keeping stakeholders and management informed about any process/team related issues.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • General Product Control experience, preferred with a focus on Treasury Products and asset classes but not essential.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
  • Experience working across global teams and functions.
  • Team player, proactive, self-starter, who can be dynamic and detailed oriented.
  • Organized, capable of prioritizing work in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to digest information quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill with an ability to clearly articulate complex issues to management, corporate partners, Global Markets, and client base

 

Mandatory Skill Set :

 

  • Demonstrates a good understanding (features & payoff) of financial products such as Bonds, loans, Forwards, Swaps, Futures & Options (including exotic options), and the relevant greeks and sensitivities involved
  • Ability to understand the booking structure for complex trades and raise relevant issues to Product Control management Good Logical reasoning skills, ability to apply existing knowledge to take logical approach while solving new un-seen issues.
  • Knowledge of Database e.g.: SQL, MS Access
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written form

 

Desired Skill Set :

 

  • Demonstrates an expert-level understanding of various pricing / valuation methodologies

 

  • Should be able to articulate, explain and defend the view point on issues and result of analysis
