Divisional Overview: 

The Equity Middle Office team based in Powai is continuously and actively engaged in supporting Nomura's Equity business spread across EMEA, Americas, Asia and Oceania regions. Equity Operations supports the entire gamut of Equities product franchise offered by Nomura to its clients. The Equity MO plays a pivotal role between Clients and Front Offices on one side and Nomura's in house teams and divisions ranging from Information Technology, Core Operations, Corporate Actions, Client Service Representatives, Transition Management Group, Client Margins, Data Management and Operations Control on the other. 

Business Unit Overview:

Prime Middle Office forms part of Equity Middle Office. Prime manages equity products directly or indirectly pertaining to clients who are deemed Prime by Nomura. The Prime Middle Office covers swap business, stock loan borrowing & lending and prime brokerage business across EMEA, AEJ and Japan. The process involves communicating with clients, traders and sales team. The MO team is responsible for the various trade and position reconciliations to ensure all positions in the Front office are in line with the Middle Office systems. This position is required to liaise mainly with other Middle offices, IT, legal, settlements, corporate action teams, risk and any other teams necessary.

Prime Brokerage Middle Office team is accountable for end to end transaction management lifecycle for their respective client coverage. This includes trade capture, settlement exceptions and cash management. The team closely work with various internal teams and external clients to ensure Settlements and Margin is executed appropriately.

Requirements :

  • Experience of working in Equity products required with SME knowledge on Stock Borrow Loan function (Equity Financing).
  • Advance level product knowledge and to cover Equities and Derivatives
  • Experience in APAC/European markets, settlements and reconciliations preferred
  • Strong time management skills required to meet the internal and external deadlines/cutoffs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept at communicating with all levels of the business and technical parts of the organization
  • Knowledge of Global Markets and settlement practices
  • Key roles & responsibilities·
  • Managing day to day SBL processing including Trade bookings. Amendments and exception processing.
  • Position Management and asset optimization
  • Counterparty Exposure Management
  • Fails and Inventory Management
  • Experience within Collateral Management for SBL desk
  • To perform as an independent control team to strengthen all the control within Global Market Operations and to follow the escalation rule
  • Reconciling trades into the matching platform and working with internal stakeholders and trading desk to reconcile mismatches.

Qualification, Experience & Skills:

  • Should be able to work independently and manage tight deadlines, should possess excellent communication skills and familiarity with financial abbreviations and basic functioning of Fixed Income market. 
  • Should be Enthusiastic / High energy / should be able to suggest solutions.

Mandatory Skill Set :

  • Required Subject matter expertise on multiple markets. Proven track record of having successfully managed different processes/ multiple teams 
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory requirements Time management and prioritization skills. Accurate work in a pressurized environment. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
