Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Business Unit Overview:

 

Business Performance Reporting is part of the Powai Finance Centre of Excellence (CoE). It is designed to provide reporting across all financial metrics for Business and Corporate Management. It is leveraging the advances in data quality and SME capability across the CoE to improve the breadth and depth of Finance MIS. The BPR team is organized across 3 key areas:

 

  • Executive and Business Reporting: This group is responsible for Wholesale MI, critical for business reviews and decision making, across Senior Management. This group also works towards creating SME capability to support the evolution of ‘On Demand MI’.

 

  • Cost Reporting and Corporate Advisory: This group provides transparency to the cost drivers of the Wholesale Business and Corporate Divisions. This encompasses financial management support through budgeting, forecasting, reporting, allocation and analysis activities. The team is leveraging digital tools to redesign and optimize processes to facilitate strategic cost management initiatives.

 

  • Core Process and Control: This group is responsible for the control and consistency of all standard MIS reports distributed to Nomura Senior Management and Wholesale Business Leads. This group works on the transformation of report production through the application of automated scheduled solutions.

The Global Markets MIS team in Powai is a key unit within the Wholesale MIS. We work closely with the Business Heads, Product Heads, Strategy and other Finance divisions to provide insights and performance reports to senior management and help them drive their strategic decisions and execute business plans.

Role & Responsibilities:

 

 

 

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the Global Markets MIS team, based in Powai, partnering with Onshore Global MIS heads, Global CAOs teams in producing various Management reports and performing analysis of Daily, MTD & YTD P&L.
  • Delivering on the adhoc requests within the agreed timelines and maintaining high level of accuracy.
  • Active participation in yearly Budget exercise as well as Mid-Year Forecasting processes
  • Represent Finance MIS in any business re-organisation and ensure changes are reflected in the reporting suite and book hierarchy
  • Performing UAT -Testing and giving sign off on the new developments of internal tools / databases.
  • Ability to present and explain workings in a clear and concise manner to a diverse audience
  • Work on process automation of reports, power point presentations using Python / VBA macros.
  • Manage and develop Power BI dashboards for senior management reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure

  • 2+ years of hands-on skills and experience Power BI
  • Experience with data ETL (SQL, Alteryx) and ability to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Hands-on experience in writing SQL queries for any RDBMS with query optimization
  • Strong understanding and hands-on related to Data modelling in Power BI [Relationships, DAX queries & Calculation and measures]
  • Creating reports and interactive Data Visualizations in Power BI
  • Outstanding   analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of learning new technologies quickly and troubleshooting abilities 
  • Good understanding of unit testing, software change management, and software release management
  • Good understanding the star schema and data models in the existing data warehouse
  • Good knowledge on configuring and managing Power BI gateway – Enterprise
