Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. Business Overview:

 

Global Markets (GM) Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets (Front Office) teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

 

The Business Management/ CAO team in Powai is a key Business Unit within the GM division. It houses a number of extended teams for various regional functions acting as enablers for the FO team such as AEJ, EMEA & US GM Business Management, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), Front Office Supervision (FOS) and Senior Relationship Management (SRM).

 

This particular role is within the Business Management team (GM CAOs). The Business Managers play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. They work extensively with Front Office Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the GM CAO - Business Management team, based in Powai, partnering with the EMEA GM Business Management team
  • The individual will be joining an existing team of Business Managers based in Powai and work very closely with Business Managers based in Powai as well as in the region.
  • The individual will assume day-to-day responsibilities contributing towards business management, performance monitoring and managing governance initiatives which support EMEA GM as well as driving key business initiatives that are critical for the growth and day to day operation of the franchise including business presentations, ad hoc strategic projects and initiatives
  • The role would require working with all the functions in the GM space – Sales, Trading, and Structuring and with various corporate functions for business and governance projects
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Presentation of key performance metrics to senior management and produce meaningful insights and analytics.
    • Coordinating and driving Product Governance forum related to structured notes distribution business
    • Facilitate decision making by delivering Management presentations to analyse and summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption, client interactions and other metrics.
    • Owning and driving business initiatives to achieve GM business objectives; both regional and global in nature
    • Global coordination and delivery on Strategic projects: Year End Business Planning, Attribution, IM6, among others
    • Co-ordinate with sales, trading desks and cooperate divisions to drive various strategic initiatives such as prioritisation of new to bank On-boarding and prepare key metrics around monetisation of new clients.
    • Co-ordinate with sales management on their client coverages and maintain sales coverage model in salesforce., among others

  • Prior experience in strategy roles would be an added advantage
