Department overview:

Nomura’s NEHS Legal, Compliance & Controls (LCC) department works to offer advice, guidance and oversight to the business on all matters related to regulatory compliance in the region.  The team works very closely with all departments across the firm and with other LCC teams in Nomura globally to offer consistent advice and solutions in a rapidly changing and evolving regulatory environment.

 

Team overview:

The Global Compliance Training team is responsible for ensuring LCC training is engaging, effective and issued to the correct global audiences to an agreed schedule. The team also ensure training is accurately tracked, monitored and reported on. Delivering effective training solutions is pivotal to the team and we use a mixture of solutions including face to face sessions, question based training, microlearining and eLearning.

The work of the Instructional Designer includes:

  • Course Development – designing and developing interactive online Compliance courses (microlearning and eLearning) suitable for global learners
  • Course Design – applying online course design principles and minimum standards to produce professional and engaging material
  • Collaboration - working closely with internal global teams to gather and interpret detailed content and turning this into effective and engaging learning
  • Project management – prioritising work to align with the team priorities and requirements of the Global Compliance Training Manager and working to multiple deadlines
  • Authoring courses - working with vendor tools using functionality including AI, avatars and video creation
  • Vendor management - working closely with vendors to ensure the smooth running of authoring tools
  • Course testing – ensuring courses are fully tested with working functionality.  Troubleshooting where necessary to identify and rectify/escalate issues

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

 

Essential

  • A proven track record of designing and developing effective eLearning and microlearning courses in a professional environment
  • A strong understanding of learning styles and how to incorporate these into online course development
  • Extensive experience working with online authoring tools including Articulate Storyline
  • Experience of creating SCORM compliant online courses for use on a Learning Management System
  • Proven ability to write assessment questions and answers for online courses
  • Extensive experience in analysing processes and procedures and turning those into effective training solutions
  • Ability to turn training needs into suitable learning solutions
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Ability to prioritise tasks according to the needs of the team
  • Proven ability to write Learning Objectives
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, written and communication skills in English language
  • Ability to work with and engage with global staff at all levels
  • Strong Outlook experience
  • MS Word and Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Ability to adapt quickly to internal and external change
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt quickly to changing demands of the role

 

Desirable:

  • Relevant training qualifications in training design
  • Experience working in a training team; preferably in a Compliance or HR environment
  • Working knowledge of SuccessFactors
