Divisional Overview:

 

Global Markets (GM) Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets (Front Office) teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business

 

 

Business Overview:

 

The Business Management / Functional Support team in Powai is a key Business Unit within the GM division. It houses several extended teams for various regional functions acting as enablers for the Front Office teams such as AEJ, EMEA & US GM Business Management, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), Wholesale Control Office (WCO), Front Office Regulatory Risk (FORR) and Senior Relationship Management (SRM)

 

This particular role is within the GM Business Management (BM / COO/ CAO) team and would specifically work closely with the GM domestic business in India (both Equities and Fixed Income). The Business Managers (or COOs/CAOs) play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. . They work closely with the Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

Role & Responsibilities:

 

Role:

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the AEJ (Asia ex-Japan) GM Business Management (BM)/ CAO team, based in Powai. The role would be dedicated to working with the India Domestic GM business – both Fixed Income and Equities businesses housed in Worli Office.
  • The individual would be working closely with the India GM CAO and various India Desk Heads.
  • Will assume day-to-day responsibilities to contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing processes which support India domestic  GM business as well as driving key business initiatives that are critical for the growth and day to day operation of the franchise.
  • The role would require working with all the functions in the GM space – Trading, Sales,
    Research & Structuring and with all the Corporate functions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Owning and Driving business initiatives and issue resolution to achieve GM business objectives
  • Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations
    • Create business plans - help quantify new business opportunities in partnership with business managers / Front Office as well as corporate functions
    • Management presentations to analyze and summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption, client interactions and other management reporting metrics.
  • Partner with Corporate functions – Operations, Finance, Technology, Compliance and others.   
    • Own day to day issues pertaining to corporate function and ensure closure.
    • Drive the process for new products from the front office in co-ordination with the front office/ new products team and corporate functions

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and regional counterparts at senior levels

 

  • Strong Analytical and Situational Problem solving skills.

 

  • Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, senior management reporting

 

  • Good MS Power-point, Excel and Word skills

 

  • Is entrepreneurial and independent; a self-starter, takes ownership, exhibits integrity, initiative, strong motivation and attention to detail

 

  • Ability to prioritize high volumes of deliverables across multiple disciplines working under pressure

 

 

 

 

  • Prior experience in strategy roles would be an added advantage
