Division Overview:

 

Nomura Global Markets division, based in Mumbai, the front-office team delivers pricing, modelling and risk management expertise to the Global Markets business. Founded as a centre of excellence, the group leads the way in price discovery and portfolio optimization techniques and is integral to the business’ aggressive revenue targets. The team is playing an integral role in structuring, pricing, risk management and new idea generation.

 

Business Unit Overview:

 

The Business Management team in Powai is a key Business Unit within the GM division. It houses a number of extended teams for various regional functions acting as enablers for the Front Office teams such as AEJ, EMEA & US GM Business Management, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), Front Office Supervision (FOS), GMDO CAO and Senior Relationship Management (SRM).

 

This particular role is within the GMDO CAO, E-Trading Strategy team. The Business Managers (or CAOs) play a strategic role in delivering the E-Trading Strategy business agenda. They work closely with the Co-Heads of E-Trading Strategy and the COO of the GM Digital Office to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policy

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the GM Business Management team, based in Powai, partnering with the global E-Trading Strategy team and the broader GM Digital Office.
  • The individual will work closely with the Global CAO of E-Trading Strategy. They will support the global requirements for the Electronic businesses in Fixed Income and FX.
  • The individual will assume day-to-day responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, financial management, managing infrastructure and processes which support E-Trading Strategy as well as managing key projects that are critical for growth and day-to-day operations.
  • Leading Financial Management and Control
    • Budget management and track actuals to inform key management decisions. Analyse and summarize revenue, expenses and resource consumption an draw meaningful insights
    • Responsible for the accuracy of the balance sheet including Asset Capitalisation and Depreciation
    • Control spend including approval of T&E and platform expenditure
    • Work with vendor teams to manage suppliers of resources, software and data through the full lifecycle of on-boarding, manage and off-boarding on a day-to-day and a strategic basis
  • Capture Team Structure and Contribution to the Business Lines
    • Timely tracking of monthly headcount and organisation changes
    • Create and maintain project structure to reflect team activities
    • Create business level allocations to inform internal cost allocation and reflect contribution made by the team
  • Owning and Driving business management activities
    • Work with the Global E-Trading Strategy CAO to drive strategy and delivery of roadmap
    • Ensuring proper risk management and control
    • Work closely with the team, local support and HR to optimize the team structure and working environment
  • Creating Strategic Business Analysis and Management Presentations
    • Prepare   weekly   business   summaries, which   include financial   metrics   and   business commentary
    • Create executive level presentations to manage the business and support senior management communication and decision making
  • Partnering with  key stakeholders across Nomura
    • Advocate E-Trading Strategy team and GM Digital Office across the organization
    • Work with GM desk and business managers to ensure the successes and challenges of the E-Trading Strategy team are recognized and supported
    • Work in close partnership with Technology, Operations,  Finance  and  other  Corporate  functions

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and regional counterparts at senior levels
  • Strong financial management skills, including accounting theory, budgets procedures and reporting

  • Good project management skills - planning, coordination/ execution, senior management reporting, situational awareness
  • Prior experience in strategy roles would be an added advantage
  • Good understanding of electronic business and platforms
  • Automation of  processes using Python and VBA macros is an added advantage
  • Ability to present “the story” using Excel Charts and PowerPoint
