Business Overview:

 

Global Markets (GM) Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets (Front Office) teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business

 

The Business Management/ CAO team in Mumbai is a key business unit within the GM division. It houses a number of extended teams for various regional functions such as AEJ & EMEA GM Business Management, GM Digital Office (GMDO) CAO, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), GM Control Office (GMCO), International Wealth Management (IWM) BM & Control Office, and Senior Relationship Management (SRM). All the sub teams are an integral part of the broader Business Management / CAO/ respective teams with their principal centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, New York and Mumbai.

 

This particular role is within the AEJ GM Sales CAO/ Business Management & CAM team. The Business Managers play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. They work extensively with Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies.

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our fast paced and growing AEJ Global Markets Sales CAO – Business Management team, based in Powai, Mumbai, which will collaborate closely with the broader AEJ Global Markets Business Management team and Client Account Management (CAM) team in Singapore, and Hong Kong.
  • The individual will partner with Business Heads and Senior Management across Sales, Trading, Structuring and Research to drive key business initiatives with a focus on client franchise growth, long term business expansion, and overall business positioning.
  • The individual will play a key role in liaising with Sales Heads and Sales teams in formulating, Client strategy, Client wallet sizing and Revenue pool trends for the AEJ Global Markets business.
  • The individual will assume day-to-day responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing infrastructure/ processes which support AEJ GM Sales.
  • The role provides wide exposure into Equities and Fixed Income Markets for Institutional clients.
  • The role would require working with Global Market – Sales, Trading, Structuring, and Research and also with all the GM Corporate functions – Compliance, Treasury, Legal, Finance, Middle Office, IT and Product Control.
  • The role may potentially require to travel to Hong Kong and Singapore for short periods for working with regional CAO/ COO/CAMs to support key strategic initiatives.

 

 

  • Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Business Analysis, and Management Presentations
    • Independently drive strategic initiatives with Sales/ Product Desk Heads using data-backed actionable insights
    • Strategic assessment of outperforming/ underperforming businesses using client analytics and market/ business dynamics to suggest recommendations for business heads 
    • Prepare management presentations to summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption and other management reporting metrics
    • Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings, investor day, off-sites, town Halls 
    • Participate in annual sales budgeting exercise for the Regional and Global business by performing historical revenue analysis and bottom up revenue forecasting

 

  • Client Account Management
  • Enhanced Client Governance - Support the drive to standardise global governance processes and MIS including responsibility for preparing regional Caution client forums decks, onboarding governance meetings material and ad hoc presentations
  • Client Experience - Assist with the Client Experience Survey feedback analysis and preparing ad hoc MIS across our range of metrics, track outcomes and help with drive their delivery with FO and Corporate partners.

 

  • Stakeholder Management
    • Proactive in working with Regional COOs and Business Heads
    • Crisp and concise communication with all stakeholders
    • Strong sense of ownership and dedication towards timely deliverables

 

  • Owning and Driving key business initiatives to achieve GM business objectives
    • Setup appropriate infra and support systems to monitor progress  
    • Coordinate with various corporate functions to ensure seamless execution

    • Own day to day issues pertaining to various corporate functions and ensure closure
