Business Overview:

 

Global Markets (GM) Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets (Front Office) teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business

 

The Business Management/ CAO team in Mumbai is a key business unit within the GM division. It houses a number of extended teams for various regional functions such as AEJ & EMEA GM Business Management, GM Digital Office (GMDO) CAO, Client Account Management and Strategy (CAMS), GM Control Office (GMCO), International Wealth Management (IWM) BM & Control Office, and Senior Relationship Management (SRM). All the sub teams are an integral part of the broader Business Management / CAO / respective teams with their principal centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Tokyo, New York and Mumbai.

 

This particular role is within the AEJ GM Sales CAO/ Business Management & CAM team. The Business Managers play a strategic role in delivering the Global Markets business agenda. They work extensively with Business Heads to drive their strategy, execute the business plans and run the floor. They are the face of business for the various Corporate Functions and are responsible for implementing the business policies

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the GM CAO - Business Management team, based in Powai, partnering with the AEJ (Asia ex-Japan) GM Business Management team (primarily Macro - Rates and FX Business Management)
  • The individual will play a key role in liaising with Desk Heads and traders in formulating and executing product strategy, platform enhancement, business analysis and new product roll outs for the AEJ Macro Trading business
  • The individual will be expected to independently lead business analysis, project implementation and communication with senior stakeholders with minimum to no supervision from regional stakeholders.
  • The individual will assume day-to-day responsibilities which will contribute towards business management, performance monitoring, managing infrastructure/ processes which support AEJ GM as well as driving key business initiatives that are critical for the growth and day to day operation of the franchise
  • The role would require working with all the functions in the GM space – Sales, Trading, Structuring, and Research and with all the Corporate functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Business Analysis, Management Presentations

 

  • Independently drive strategic initiatives with Product / Sales Desk Heads with data-backed actionable insights focusing on dimensions like revenue trends, product & segment penetration, wallet-share analysis, hit-miss analysis, client onboarding & engagement etc.
  • Prepare management presentations to summarize revenue, expenses, resource consumption and other management reporting metrics
  • Prepare periodic business summaries covering financial metrics as well as business commentary for Senior Management
  • Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings, off-sites, town Halls
  • Prepare periodic business summaries covering financial metrics as well as business commentary for Senior Management
  • Cover cross-divisional and regional franchise initiatives like feedback surveys, designing and maintenance of sales and trading scorecards and other strategic initiatives. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to any ad-hoc business requests / business planning and reviews arising from Desk heads / Senior Management.

  • Partnering  with  Technology,  Operations,  Finance, other  Corporate  functions

 

  • Own day to day issues pertaining to various corporate functions and ensure closure

 

  • Control and Conduct

 

  • Owning Audit points and business continuity management (BCM) plan for the unit
  • Expense approval, expense management and tracking

Ownership of control process like Trading Book Access, Profile Maintenance and Identity and Access Control.
