Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

 

Division Overview:
Global Markets Powai team is an extension of regional Global Markets teams supporting Equities, Securitized Products, Rates, FX, and Credit. The division in Powai provides support for a range of activities like research, quantitative modelling, sales and trading support, pricing and balancing, product development and strategy. Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business

 

Business Unit Overview:
Nomura’s Front Office Risk team covers various gamut of Risk and capital Management activities for the Global Markets business globally. Within Nomura India Powai Office, a sub-team with FO Risk team
looks at business side design and development of Nomura’s strategic risk database named Unity Data Warehouse (UDW).
The Unity Data Warehouse (UDW) platform is a business critical system and has been adopted by a number of GM and Corporate functions including FO Risk, Credit & Market Risk and Finance as part of the GM Data Strategy of rationalising Trade, Risk and Valuation data feeding from GM systems into Corporate Functions. As a result of this extensive usage, there has been a substantial increase in data analysis, new data requests, testing, data quality checks and governance of UDW data from consumers
of UDW data and also control functions – all of which are supported by the UDW BA team. We are looking augment the UDW BA team with an additional business analyst to support this increased demand

Position Specifications:
Corporate Title : Associate
Experience : 2-5 years
Qualification : BTech /BE /MSc /MBA Finance from a reputed school

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Will work closely with the GM Business Data Officer & Special Projects team supporting the team leads
  • Support business analysis for all requirements raised by UDW consumers and projects, including but not limited to:

- Risk & Regulatory Projects

 - Investigation of data issues

 - Implementation of Data Quality checks and reconciliations

 - Creation of UDW JIRAs based on technical implementation of user requirements after consulting with UDW SMEs

 - Creating and maintaining documentation

 - Ad-hoc data analysis

  • Analyse front to back data flows across front office systems and back office
  • Actively participate in UDW release cycles and testing

 

 

Mind Set:

 

  • Experience in a Risk Management related role would be preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to explain business requirements to IT teams in clear terms
  • The person should have good communication skill as the job will involve a permanent interaction with the traders and all the support functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate across various system users.
