Divisional Overview
The Corporate finance team performs global and seamless Finance operations including Treasury and Capital Management, Trading and Product control, financial reporting and disclosure, Management information and reporting for decision support, planning and development of financial strategy including, tax planning and reporting, investor relations management, and much more.
Business Unit Overview
Treasury is responsible for funding the Firm and ensuring that adequate liquidity is maintained in all market conditions. It provides funding solutions to the businesses while managing attendant financial risks and minimizing interest and operational costs. There are 4 teams within Treasury, Powai:
- Funding Support
- Regulatory reporting (AEJ, Japan, EU, US)
- Liquidity reporting (Internal Liquidity Stress reporting)
- FLM (Liquidity Stress Modelling, Liquidity Analytics, FTP, IRBB)

Funding & Liquidity Management (FLM):
The FLM team in India collaborates closely with EMEA, Tokyo, and US Liquidity Management teams. Recently established, the India team specializes in advanced analytics and modeling of liquidity through initiatives designed to enhance transparency around liquidity drivers, sources, and usage while optimizing Nomura's liquidity reserves. The team applies analytical and quantitative techniques across multiple workstreams, including:
- Liquidity Stress Modelling – development and maintenance predictive models for internally-built liquidity stress scenarios. Continuous model performance monitoring, ad-hoc analysis, liquidity reserve optimisation by fine-tuning models by reducing/replacing over-conservative liquidity reserves/buffers with accurate risk driven reserves.
- Liquidity Forecasting & Analytics - leveraging data-driven models for forward-looking liquidity projections, understanding liquidity drivers, what-if analysis and supporting liquidity analytics and controls
- Fund Transfer Pricing Analytics & Modeling – Establishing internal Treasury pricing mechanisms by developing methodology/models for different product/segments in phased manner
- IRRBB Analysis & Reporting – Analysis and reporting of interest rate risk in the banking book, Economic view of interest rate risk by covering banking and trading books

Role & Responsibilities:
Role: FLM- Analyst:
Liquidity Stress Modelling or Liquidity Analytics
The candidate will be part of FLM-team and will take responsibility for various BAU review/analysis, ad-hoc projects, and analytics processes which underpin the internal or regulatory Liquidity risk related requirements for the consolidated group. The role will involve working closely with Treasury colleagues across Tokyo, New York, Mumbai and London and will involve:
Liquidity Stress Modelling related activities:
- Development of and enhancement to the bank’s Internal liquidity stress models
- Conducting what-if analysis for the stress models/ ad-hoc stress scenario analysis
- In-depth root cause analytics for the major contributors to the stress outflow/inflow
- Implement models in the strategic stress platform using SQL, Python, R or equivalent
- Liaising with front office, risk, IT and reporting to ensure robust model development, testing and implementation
- Producing and maintaining up-to-date model documentation
- Involvement in Treasury Change initiatives including working with IT in the automation of liquidity stress test
