Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

  • Ensure appropriate records of daily and monthly activities are kept. Assist with compliance reviews or audits as needed
  • Cash and position reconciliation between NOMURA and custodian records for all portfolios managed by NAMUK on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Futures cash and position reconciliation between NOMURA and Broker account on daily and weekly basis
  • Reconciliation of forwards on daily and weekly basis
  • Front office reporting; cash and collateral balances, cash projection, cash management and update/follow-up of portfolio overdraft.
  • Performing sanity checks and reporting of fund valuation, performance and other working reports to the final Clients and Custodians
  • Receipt and processing of cash flow (Subscription/Redemption) to the portfolio.
  • Pre-month-end checks, generation and verification of valuation report through crystal reporting.
  • Monthly Valuation pack to Institutional clients.
  • Monthly signoff/reporting to other NAM offices
  • Daily, weekly and monthly MIS reporting to counter parts

 

  • Corporate Actions
  • Identify all new corporate actions being announced and set up files where appropriate. Review incoming SWIFT messages from Custodians, diaries and/or act upon urgent files.
  • Identify updates to existing corporate actions, amend files and advice the Fund manager if necessary depending on the event type and what the update is.
  • Investigate and resolve queries from other teams, offices and external parties. These include but are not limited to, reconciliation breaks from the client reporting team, clarification of corporate action information, completing additional documentation etc.
  • Ensure dividends and coupon payments received from the Custodian are accurate and process on internal systems. Query any discrepancies and outstanding payment with appropriate party.
  • Participate in system enhancement projects and testing. Actively participate in discussions to improve processes.
  • Ensuring existing procedures are kept up-to-date with changing processes
  • Monitoring group email box to ensure queries are actioned by the team accordingly to priority and ensuring that there are no outstanding items at COB
  • Complete lifecycle management of voluntary and mandatory corporate action event i.e. identification, data scrubbing, calculating economics, booking to accounts and post settlement reconciliation

 

  • Portfolio Performance measurement
  • Responsible for producing, reviewing & validating daily performance for all the portfolios & composites under management.
  • Perform month-end activities to facilitate finalization of monthly performance and attribution, including the production of standard and customized client reports.
  • Review and understand the various return calculation methodologies to analyse and spot any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for tracking changes and maintaining composites as per the GIPS policy and procedures.
  • Perform account vs benchmark analysis to ensure reasonableness of the returns produced. Effectively handle all queries from internal & external stakeholders on all the matters related to performance, attribution & risk statistics.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Admin and Client Services to provide necessary information required to prepare materials for marketing, DDQs & RFPs
  • Work closely with Risk team to ensure the consistency of data and analysis across the business.

 

  • Client Servicing –

 

  • Responsible for providing regular and periodic updates to client about their investments, portfolio performance reports, AUM reports and standard periodic reports at regular intervals on daily, weekly, monthly and Quarterly basis.
  • Responsible for understanding the process workflows to know that what sources files are being used to prepare final reports.
  • Participate and contribute in FinTech initiatives and ideation programs to automate manual intensive processes.
