1.1 Divisional Overview
The Finance Division provides comprehensive financial management, reporting, and control functions across Nomura's global operations. The PE Controller team manages Personnel Expenses, which account for approximately 50% of Nomura's overall costs. The team comprises 5 FTE onshore and 8 FTE in Powai, responsible for journal posting, data cleansing, bonus accruals, deferrals processing (RSU/DCA/NSU), headcount reporting, Kenmu allocations, PE forecasting, and budget. The team is currently undertaking a significant automation project to transform PE controller processes while maintaining business-as-usual operations.

1.3 Role Purpose
The Analyst will support the PE Controller team in executing day-to-day operations and maintaining business as usual activities. This role is critical to ensuring continuity of PE controller processes including data cleansing, bonus accruals, deferrals processing, headcount reporting, and reconciliations. The successful candidate will work with multiple data sources, perform data validation and support the preparation of materials for senior management and reporting
1.4 Key Responsibilities
- End to end responsibilities for accounting and reporting for compensation expenses for APAC / EMEA region
- Reviews general ledger/sub ledgers on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting
- Execute data cleansing activities across HR compensation data, year-end bonus data, headcount data, payroll data, RIF data, and open roles/rate cards
- Review MoM variance analysis on compensation lines insight to entity controllers
- Perform data validation to identify and resolve missing HR data gaps across employee records
- Conduct HR vs Finance cost center validation and month-on-month comparisons
- Support regular bonus accrual calculations and year-end bonus booking processes
- Assist with deferrals processing including RSU, DCA, and NSU calculations
- Prepare global headcount MISX uploads and EMEA headcount reporting decks
- Support allocation processes
- Perform data curation including calculations of fiscal costs (Bonus, DCA, PE) and conversion to Finance Book/Nominal
- Apply FX rates and OCB rates to PE calculations
- Maintain and operate Excel-based workflows handling large files
- Conduct ledger versus output checks and quality assurance reviews
- Perform regional comparison and reconciliation activities
- Support preparation of materials for HRC (Human Resources Committee)
- Assist with PE and headcount trend analysis
- Contribute to PE run rate preparation and various PE/HC analysis
- Document current processes to support the automation transformation project

- Experience with financial calculations and FX conversions
- Competency in preparing management reports and presentations
