Division Overview:


Global Markets Division: Based in Mumbai, the front-office team which works on a team extension model delivers pricing, modelling and risk management expertise to the Global Markets business. Founded as a centre of excellence, the group leads the way in price discovery and portfolio optimization techniques and is integral to the business’ aggressive revenue targets. The team is playing an integral role in structuring, pricing, risk management and new idea generation.


Team Overview


The GM eTrading Risk is a first line of defence function for low touch electronic trading within Global Markets at Nomura. The team is part of the Wholesale COO function and works closely with each eTrading businesses and technology across Global Markets as well as Second Line functions. GM eTrading Risk is responsible for the build out and maintenance of robust control framework that mitigates risks associated with low touch electronic trading including conduct risk.


The eTrading Governance function is responsible for maintenance of algorithms, risk control inventory and related documentation, facilitation of approval process for new algorithms and material changes, development of eTrading policy, control processes and procedures etc.


The Independent Real Time Monitoring (IRTM) Team is responsible for Cross Asset real time monitoring and trend analysis of direct application and real-time time engine generated alerting in order to identify potential market impacting behaviours and events that could lead to a disorderly market.


The eTrading Governance function will be working with the local eTrading desk heads, front-office supervision team and business COO to ensure a smooth running of e trading platforms, and to contribute to their business development.

Role & Responsibilities:




  • Governance and oversight of Nomura’s low touch eTrading activities including maintenance of algorithms & risk controls inventory and related documentation.
  • Validating control design and effectiveness of annual attestation and MiFID II annual self-assessment
  • Assist in completing annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment for GM eTrading Risk and Controls
  • Documenting end to end eTrading flows, mapping key ATCs, venues and legal entities
  • Assist in preparing presentation and key metrics for global and regional governance forums.
  • Act as point of contact to eTrading businesses in India with respect to eTrading Governance Framework.






















Mind Set:







  • Minimum 2/3 years of experience working within markets.
  • Knowledge of governance function – as is exposure to electronic trading.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are critical.
  • Strong project management and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and key exchange rules relating to algorithmic trading preferable



  • Understanding of Global markets.
  • Excellent team work and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders and interact with all levels of individuals in the business.
