Role description:

 

  • Be the lead trader on the Global Correlation trading book

  • Manage the development and execution of correlation trading strategies, aligning with the overall business goals and market trends.

  • Management of risk associated with FX options trading activities, ensuring team/overall book compliance with risk limits and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead/influence other traders and desk strategists to develop pricing models and strategies for FX options products, ensuring competitiveness in the market.

  • Coordinate trading activities across the global correlation book, ensuring a cohesive and forward-looking approach.

  • Mentor other traders, providing guidance and support to achieve trading objectives.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to help service clients’ needs whilst building lasting relationships and franchise. Where possible encouraging an innovative “best on street” approach.

  • Lead the global correlation trading team to produce steady revenue stream from market knowledge and responsible idea-driven risk-taking.  

  • Leverage client flow and market events for the benefit of the client base and Nomura.

  • Maintain a clear and concise communication channel with senior management and encourage a culture to Challenge, Escalate and Respect within the working environment.

 

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

  • Considerable previous experience working within Correlation Trading

  • Excellent communication skills with proven experience in communicating with international teams

  • Strong relationship building skills especially across trading and sales coordination

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory environment

  • Highly motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to understand the client’s needs

  • Demonstrates strong emergent leadership skills supported by ability to collaborate across team, function and region

  • Demonstrates professional ethics and leads by example in building Nomura culture

  • Works closely with front office and corporate team members
