Desk Overview:

The desk’s mandate broadly spans across jurisdictions, asset classes, formats and attach-detach points to provide a holistic financing proposition across the European Real Estate space, with a focus on value-add, concentrated RE risk. The desk’s remit and expertise allows it to position its risk taking and activities where it identifies the highest relative value propositions with a focus on identifying market opportunities which require creative solutions that do not necessarily fall within the standard boxes serviced by more industrialised competitors. Since its establishment, the desk has financed Real Estate across Europe in many forms, from leveraging acquisitions of secured NPL portfolios to financing liquidation plays, value-add transactions (e.g. refurbs, leasing plays, SLBs, operational turnaround, etc), CRE development, all the way to special situations and shorter secured bridges. The desk is also active in warehouse financings of RE-backed loans, typically across the bridging and development platform lending space. The financing solutions offered by the desk cut across the capital structure, with an ability to structure both senior and/or junior / subordinated structures when opportunities arise. The desk underwrites risk for the bank’s balance sheet and for distribution and has transacted in several jurisdictions and with a number of clients across Europe.
