Department Overview

 

The EMEA Network/Vendor Management team based in London forms part of Shared Services (Operations) and is primarily responsible for the management and oversight of the firm’s key custody and cash banking partners and operations vendors. The function is headed by the Global Head of Network and Operations Vendor Management (also based in London) and is supported by a wider offshore team located in Powai, India.

 

The primary functions of the team include:

  • Responsible for the selection, performance and relationship management of the custody and clearing agents and key operations third parties within the EMEA region covering the wholesale businesses.
  • Performs on-going due diligence of selected third parties to ensure appropriate service is received at the most competitive price.
  • Incident management and point of escalation for internal teams and the business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely and effective manner.
  • Accountability for associated fee spend and successful negotiation of rebates where required.

 

Overview:

 

Requirement for a driven and independent individual to assist with the day-to-day management of the firm’s key banking partners and operational vendors, reporting into the Global Head of Network and Vendor Management.

 

Key objectives critical to success:

  • Effective and articulate relationship management through active contact with external partners
  • Act as an escalation point/SME to internal and external stakeholders to assist with the resolution of issues
  • Host and be accountable for ongoing service meetings with banks and vendors (both in person and virtually) ensuring agendas are agreed and appropriate action setting and tracking.
  • Representation for the firm at external industry meetings/forums as appropriate
  • Participation in key projects (including RFPs and fee benchmarking), understanding the requirements and working with relevant stakeholders towards delivery.
  • Direct experience relating to the management of Third Parties / Vendor engagements as well as agent banks is a benefit. 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to participate in and represent the function at any relevant internal or external meetings.
  • Effective time and inbox management.
  • Detail orientated with the ability to multi-task when required.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Effective prioritisation highlighting key dependencies with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excel skills / PowerPoint (required).
  • Work well within an extended team environment (on shore and off shore).
  • Broad understanding of financial markets and products (including fixed income, equity, fx, otc) helpful.
