Job Title: Legal Counsel, Global Markets (Equities) - 6 months contract

Department Overview
Team of trading floor based transactional lawyers supporting all Global Markets businesses, including Equities, Rates, Credit, FX, Securitised Products and various Solutions businesses.
Role Overview
- Work closely with the Equities Business with respect to the structuring, negotiation, documentation and execution of a range of equity products(i) equity derivatives (both Equity Solutions trades and flow), (ii) margin loans and fund finance (NAV) loans (iii) prime brokerage (both cash and synthetic).
- Advise and assist in the creation, structuring, regulatory analysis and launch of new products and businesses.
- Interpret, educate and assist with the implementation of regulatory changes that impact equities businesses.
- Advise the Business, Risk, Compliance and others internally regarding legal and regulatory issues, developments and risks relating to equities businesses.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- Strong experience with equity products, in particular equity derivatives.
- Familiarity with ISDA (including the Equity Definitions) and a preference for familiarity with other industry documentation (LMA, GMSLA, Prime Brokerage documentation).
- Familiarity with corporate, security, finance and insolvency laws, documents and related issues (for example security enforcement).
- Strong organisational, analytical and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -- ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to work independently and respond proactively to business needs.
- Strong team player.
- 5+ years PQE English law qualified lawyer.
