The HR Business Partner is a key advisor to the EMEA Wholesale business, providing proactive guidance, coaching and direction on all people issues and efficient HR service delivery in partnership with HR Specialist teams across a comprehensive range of HR disciplines and transformational projects. Relationship management is at the centre of this role and is crucial to its success.
Role Description:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with senior leaders in the Global Markets division to develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals and drive performance.
- Talent Management: Oversee succession planning, leadership development, and performance management processes.
- Organizational Development: Work closely with business leaders to design and implement organizational changes that improve efficiency and effectiveness. Facilitate change management initiatives and support cultural transformation.
- Employee Relations: Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with local laws and company policies.
- Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with compensation and benefits teams to develop competitive and equitable programs that align with market trends and support business objectives.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, promoting a culture of equity and respect across the Global Markets division. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilise HR analytics to inform and drive strategic decisions. Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, serving as a trusted advisor and influencing decision-making processes.
- Project Management: Lead or participate in HR projects and initiatives that align with business priorities.
- Ensure timely execution and delivery of project objectives.
- Performance Management: Supporting performance management activity, for example, annual performance reviews, feedback activity and management of underperformance.
- Employee relations cases: including management of investigations, facilitating conversations with respect to conflict/dispute resolution and consequence management.
- Compensation: Heavily involved in the year-end compensation process, including reviews of fixed and variable pay audit checks, providing advice to the business and running spend analysis
- Business Relationship Management: Develop and maintain an effective and focused relationship with the client group, providing timely and accurate advice and support on all HR related issues
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
- Proven ability and desire to build strong relationships as a trusted advisor to a demanding client group (such as Front Office / Global Markets Divisions).
- Experienced Senior HR professional who is able to operate confidently with senior level clients in a challenging, fast paced environment.
- Experience operating as a Senior HR Business Partner within an Investment Bank, ideally having worked with front office clients, specifically Global Markets.
- Strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage end-to-end processes
- Commercial awareness and ability to evaluate people risk
- Practical experience managing employee relations issues and complex compensation structures desirable
- Providing support and advice on all HR disciplines (Recruitment, Reward, Employee Relations, Learning and Performance)
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and relationships
- Knowledge of current UK employment legislation and regulatory environment
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong analytical and data management skills
