Department Overview:
NCRAM is a registered investment advisor managing approximately $40 billion in fixed income assets including high yield bonds, leveraged loans, emerging markets and distressed issues.
Role Overview:
Nomura Corporate Research and Asset Management (NCRAM) is looking for an Associate/VP level High Yield bond analyst. This is a buy-side role.
An analyst for the High Yield group will join a 23-person team and will take on responsibility for one or more industries over time. The primary focus is high yield bonds; however, the analyst will make investment recommendations for the entire capital structure and for all NCRAM of strategies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- The analyst will perform bottom-up research that requires thorough analysis of economic and industry trends, financial statement analysis and knowledge of the markets.
- Contribute to Global and European High Yield portfolios by researching developed market European corporate credits.
- A key feature of the NCRAM program is that analysts, over time, will cover a variety of sectors, so he/she will be able to gain exposure to many different companies.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in high yield analysis, or similar financial analysis.
- High-level understanding of fixed income market and economic research including both quantitative and qualitative concepts of bond math, risk and exposure.
- Some understanding of active management of fixed income securities particularly for HY corporate bonds.
Attributes:
- Strong academic qualifications.
- Clear spoken & written communication skills are required, as the role involves a great deal of interaction with investors, portfolio managers, economists and analysts.
