Department overview:
Nomura’s Front Office Risk team covers a board variety of Risk and Capital management activities for the Global Markets business globally. The team works directly with Heads of Global Markets both globally and regionally. Team roles can be broadly defines as:

Regular analysis of Risks warehoused in Global Markets Division across both Market Risk and Counterparty Risk. Team needs to stay in touch with the market moves and events and be in regular touch with trading teams on understanding their risk views and market flows that may impact our broader risk positions.

Liaise with 2nd line of defence and participate in risk meetings to discuss key client exposures.

Analyse PnL drivers for GM portfolio and work towards identifying potentially toxic risks under different market environments.

Stop loss management for all GM traders and work with them for any risk reductions required in line with the stop loss policy.

Capital Analysis and Planning: To analyse the regulatory capital / other financial resources requirements and identifying drivers of changes. Team also looks at developing potential trades to mitigate capital increases.

GM Representation for special projects: Team represents global markets within various committees for regulatory projects like FRTB. It includes communicating GM requirements from these projects and ensuring they are fulfilled.
Responsibilities:

Incumbent will be part of the EMEA Front Office Risk team, who are all based in London. The focus will be on monitoring and reporting on various trading desk within EMEA GM as well as building out tools for risk analytics.

Will work closely with all corporate functions of the bank to help Business’s and Desks’ heads in EMEA with Risk Identification and Monitoring, by highlighting any risk issues (risk concentration, high limits usages, potential new risks, etc.)

Looking at risk taking in those desks and talking to traders as well as the Risk Managers and any relevant team to understand trading strategies, market flows and moves as well as the present and future impact of such risk on GM P&L.

Identifying new potential risk based on what is happening in the economy or coming from our product flows.

Understanding how the new regulation could affect GM business and propose solution to mitigate it.

Stop loss management for EMEA traders and working with them for any risk reductions required in line with the stop loss policy

Will work on any new regulation related to risk and be the liaison between the different trading desks in EMEA and the global teams working on implementing and planning the upcoming regulations like FRTB
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
-
The person need to be technically-minded as the role involves understanding and explaining the risk taken across asset classes / products and link it to the PnL of that particular desk.

Strong analytical and excel skills.

Experience writing code in Python is preferable
-
The person should have good communication skill as the job will involve a permanent interaction with the traders and all the support functions.

Regular Work in Office (five days per week) is required.
