Role description:
 

The Equity Execution Production Services team provides Level One, Two and Three Support for Nomura’s Electronic Order Management, Connectivity and Routing applications. Work will be across all Equity businesses which includes Derivatives, Convertible Bonds and Delta One.

 

This is a hands-on support role covering the Equity trading floor. The main responsiblities are to maintain and support OMS/EMS applications, trade order flows and various regulatory reports. It will include working on connectivity with clients, with other Nomura applications and with Instinet.The role requires constant interaction with sales and trading, middle office and operations teams. Work will be varied in nature and incorporate both hands-on support, incident and problem management. A successful candidate can expect to be involved in array of short and longer term projects.


The ideal candidate will have strong technical and business knowledge in OMS/EMS, having trading floor or Front Office support experience, FIX protocol and client onboarding experience with strong communication skills. Knowledge of equity derivatives is a plus.


The role presents an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to develop a broad range of technical and soft skills, as well as the ability to develop a thorough understanding of  Equity Execution, Convertible and Equity Derivatives businesses and their associated work and system flows.


There is a requirement to work early and late shifts (7:30am – 4:30pm and 9:00am – 6:00pm) on a rota basis. Additionally, the team are required to be on call over weekends, to carry out releases over weekends, and to provide onsite cover on bank holidays – all on a rota basis.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

 

•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in trade floor or related support experience
•    Good product knowledge in financial instruments (Equities and Equity Derivatives preferred)
•    Experience with electronic trading platforms and OMS/EMS systems 

•    Able to navigate in UNIX and Windows proficently
•    Able to troubleshoot problems in multiple environments
•    Strong technical and analytical skills (SQL knowledge and scripting experiences)
•    Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work towards tight deadlines.  
•    FIX Protocol
•    Experience with system monitoring platforms
•    Knowledge of ITIL practices including Incident, Problem and Change management
•    Familiarity with middleware, such as TIBCO or Solace, is a plus
•    Development skills are a plus (Python experience is preferred)
